to the Lakewood Men’s Golf Club
LMGC ("The Wood") is based at Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood, California and is affiliated with the Southern California Golf Association. Our members enjoy many benefits of belonging to The Wood: regular monthly tournaments with side pots; flighted Club Championships; our premier Member/Guest event, with golf, prizes, food & drink; Team Play events against other clubs at neutral sites; away trips (many with transportation provided); Monday night Shoot Outs during the summer; Challenge Cup matches against other L.A. County clubs; Quad Cities events against Long Beach clubs; Partners Cup matches against other L.A. County clubs; an annual Putting Championship; General Meetings with raffles, speakers and food; and The Wood's Annual Holiday Party.
With your Associate Membership you may:
1. Play in any or all of the below dates, based on availability
a. February 14, 2021 Individual Low Net
b. March 7, 2021 Front Nine Nassau
c. June 13, 2021 Back Nine Nassau
d. July 18, 2021 Red White & Blue
e. October 17, 2021 Individual Low Net
2. All above events are individual competitions
3. Signups for events are online at www.lakewoodmensgolfclub.com and are first come first served. Registration begins five weeks in advance of the tournament date through the website.
4. Entry fees include green fees, tournament fees and side pot fees.
5. Normally five flights are offered for individual play, based on handicap, and American Golf gift cards are awarded for Low Net scores and Closest to the Pin competitions. Checks are awarded for Low Gross, Skins, Low Putts and Greens in Regulation.
6. As an Associate Member, if you choose to play in any of the above events and win any prizes, the first $60 will be held with the LMGC to enable your Associate membership to be upgraded to full membership. All winnings above $60.00 will be awarded to you.
You may bypass all of the above by upgrading your Associate Membership to Regular Membership by mailing a check for $60.00 payable to LMGC, attention Tom Grau, Membership Chairman, 3919 Cerritos Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807 grautr47@verizon.net
If you do join as a Regular Member, you then can enjoy all of the benefits listed above in the first paragraph. Other regularly scheduled monthly events are:
1. January 10, 2021 – 2 man team event
2. April 18, 2021 – 4 man team event
3. May 15, 2021 – 2021 Club Championship
4. August 15, 2021 – 4 man team event
5. Sept 11, 2021 – Member Guest 2 man team event
6. Nov 14, 2021 – Individual event
7. Dec 11, 2021 – Individual event
