Cart Rule at Lakewood Country Club

We want carts to be available for everyone who wants to ride, so kindly adhere to the course policy that carts are populated with two riders. In a group with only one player riding and all others walking, then a single rider will be allowed.

Play in 4-person teams where each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the round, and hole out all putts. Record everybody’s gross scores on the scorecard. A single player cannot contribute both gross and net on the same hole.

Who may participate in our Club Championship and LMGC Senior Championship?

·   Open for LMGC regular men’s club members

·   Associate members may arrange for a membership upgrade

·   Players lacking a history of one-year low index will supply five recent 18-hole scores and a listing of the course and tee used

·   There is an age requirement for the LMGC Senior Championship which will be described in an email as well as described on the event portal, but an easy determination is if you are 55 years of age as of the first day of the tournament.

For this tournament, use alternating tee boxes, starting with silver, forward tees on 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 & 16; then white, mid tees, on 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 & 17; and finally, blue, back tees, on 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 & 18.  DO NOT USE THE ORANGE TEES ON ANY HOLES. The tournament committee will post this to GHIN as a Home round played from the white tees, since that is the average of the RWB tee rotation.

Participating in tournament golf, enhancing our understanding of the game and socializing are some of the fun things we do at The Wood!

LMGC ("The Wood") is based at Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood, California, and is affiliated with the Southern California Golf Association. Our members enjoy many benefits of belonging to The Wood: regular monthly tournaments with side pots; flighted Club Championships; our premier Member/Guest event, with golf, prizes, food & drink; Team Play events against other clubs; away trips; Wednesday night Shoot Outs during the summer; an annual Putting Championship; General Meetings with food; and The Wood's Annual Meeting after golf in December.

 * Our LMGC Regular Monthly Events use the regular monthly HIO participants list, which is found online, HERE. Of course, the non-monthly events have their own HIO list, which is also found online under Tournaments and Events. Also note that the listed fees for the regular monthly events include green fees and the purse portion for both the theme game and side pots which are CTP, gross for two places, skins plus putts and GIR’s, all likely in 5 individual flights. All fees given are without a cart except for the Member-Guest in September and the Shoot the Works in December since they are shotgun start tournaments and the fee includes a shared half-cart.
