Format

Pinehurst (18 holes, Stroke Play). Both partners tee off from their assigned tee and then each plays a second shot with the other's ball. After the second shot, a choice is made regarding the ball with which the hole will be completed. Alternating shots will be continued until the hole is completed. On par three holes, the choice must be made after the tee shots.

Eligibility


Both the father and son* must be members of an MGA Member Club and have an individual up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men. The team must have a combined Handicap Index of 18.0 or less and one member of the team must have a handicap of 6.0 or less under the USGA Handicap System. Neither father nor son may have a Handicap Index that exceeds 18.0. All entrants are subject to the MGA Rules and Regulations

A father may register to play more than once with two different sons, under the condition that the morning round is the “competitive” round; the afternoon round will not count towards the competition.

Note: If the championship fills to capacity, the second father-son pair will be placed on the waitlist until a spot becomes available.

Note: Either the Father OR the Son may be the Professional if entered into the Professional Division. The Amateur must have a handicap of 18.0 or less.

*Those with legal guardianship may participate. Teams consisting of In-Laws are not permitted*
Carts/Caddies • Players are required to use a motorized golf cart. The cost of the cart is included in your entry fee.
• Players may bring their own caddie.
• Players may not carry their own bag.
• Players are not permitted to use pull carts.
• It is strongly recommended that caddies wear shoes without spikes or tread.
• Final information will be provided in the Memorandum to Players, which will be released prior to the event.
Food Service Breakfast and Lunch will be available in a fixed window, please consult the Memorandum to Players for times and locations.
Golf Genius App Live scoring will be utilized through the Golf Genius Mobile App, which players are asked to download via the following links. Apple | Android

Please note: The USGA Tournament Management App that was used previously is no longer in service.
WGA Championship


A Team may win both the MGA & WGA Championship.

If both the Father & Son are members of a MGA Member Club in the nine county area, their score will be counted towards both the MGA Championship and the WGA Championship.
LIGA Championship


A Team may win both the MGA & LIGA Championship.

If both the Father & Son are members of a Long Island MGA Member Club, their score will be counted towards both the MGA Championship and the LIGA Championship.
