ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The English Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for golfers with a disability is open to male and female golfers and is played by 36 holes of stroke play over two days, 18 holes being played on each day.
The winner is the competitor who returns the lowest gross score over 36 holes. Prizes are also awarded for the lowest net scores (both male and female playing categories) with a Handicap Index of scratch (or lower) to 18.4.
Players with a Handicap Index of 18.5 to 36.0 will play in a separate 36 hole stableford competition category of the main Championship with prizes are awarded for the highest stableford scores.
Players must hold an EDGA Access or World Rankings Pass or hold a national or international deaf sport classification.
NEXT YEAR'S VENUE
Two championship golf courses are on offer at SbN. The Gainsborough and the Constable, both created in the early ’70s and named after two local famous artists, Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. Both courses are well-established and include the challenges of lakes, streams and woodland. They have also played host to major national and international championships such as the PGA Europro Tour, European Senior Tour PGA Seniors Championships, European Challenge Tour (The English Challenge) and the Ladies European Tour Access Series
