Format |
36-hole on site Stroke Play qualifier to determine 16 players for match play. In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place(s), a hole-by-hole playoff will be immediately conducted to determine the final qualifier(s).

Match Play Seeding |
General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in the qualifying round will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by the order of finish in the play-off.

Eligibility |
The Junior Championship is open to male amateur golfers who have not started attending college, are not yet 19 by July 14, 2025 (The MGA/MetLife Boys Championship is limited to those not yet 16 on August 12, 2025, and must be members of an MGA Member Club. A person who does not reside in the MGA territory and who is not a full-time student or employed in the MGA territory, cannot join an MGA Member Club for the purpose of entering an MGA event. Male golfers under the age of 16 may compete in both the MGA/MetLife Boys and Met Junior Championships.

Exemption Categories
(if otherwise eligible) |
1. Former Winners of the Carter Cup, Met Junior and MGA/MetLife Boys Championship.
2. 2024 Junior Champions of the NJSGA, CSGA, NYSGA.
3. 15 Lowest scores plus ties in the 2024 Carter Cup.
4. Qualifiers for 2025 USGA Qualifiers and Alternates. Qualifiers for 2025 US Open Final Stage Qualifying
5. 2024 Met Junior Semi-Finalists and MGA/MetLife Boys Runner-Up
6. Anyone exempt for the Ike Stroke Play Championship, Met Amateur and/or Met Open Championships will also be exempt to the Junior/Boys Championships
7. Top 750 in the Men’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) at the time of entry.
8. Top 500 in the AJGA Rolex Rankings at the time of entry
9. Top 10 on the 2024 MGA Junior Player of the Year standings
10. Current Junior Club Champion at Host Club – Southampton Golf Club
Exemptions (MGA/MetLife Boys):
1. Previous winners of MGA/MetLife Boys Championship. Defending Champion will be the 1 seed, any previous champion still eligible will be the 2 seed.
2. Current Junior Club Champion at Host Club – Redding. Host Club Junior Champ will be the 9 seed.
