Format |
36-hole on site Stroke Play qualifier to determine 16 players for match play. In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place(s), a hole-by-hole playoff will be immediately conducted to determine the final qualifier(s).

Match Play Seeding |
General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in the qualifying round will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by the order of finish in the play-off.

Eligibility |
The Junior Championship is open to male amateur golfers who have not started attending college, are not yet 19 by July 15, 2024 (The MGA/MetLife Boys Championship is limited to those not yet 16 on July 30, 2024, and must be members of an MGA Member Club. A person who does not reside in the MGA territory and who is not a full-time student or employed in the MGA territory, cannot join an MGA Member Club for the purpose of entering an MGA event. Male golfers under the age of 16 may compete in both the MGA/MetLife Boys and Met Junior Championships.

Exemption Categories

1. Former winners of the Met Junior, Carter Cup and MGA/MetLife Boys Championship
2. 2023 Junior Champions of the NJSGA, CSGA, NYSGA, LIGA and WGA
3. 15 lowest scores (plus ties) in the 2023 Carter Cup
4. 2024 USGA Qualifiers and Alternates. And those who qualify for 2024 U.S. Open SQR
5. 2023 Met Junior Semifinalists and MGA/MetLife Boys Runner-Up
6. Qualifiers and exempt players for the 2024 Ike, Met Amateur or Met Open Championship
7. Top 750 in the Men’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) at the time of entry
8. Top 500 in the AJGA Rolex Rankings at the time of entry
9. Top 10 on the 2023 MGA Junior Player of the Year Standings
10. Current Junior Club Champion at Host Club - Sunningdale Country Club
Exemptions (MGA/MetLife Boys):
Former Winners of the Carter Cup, Met Junior & MGA/MetLife Boys Championship
Current Junior Club Champion at Host Club - White Beeches Golf & Country Club
