Format The MGA Public Links Championship is a 36-hole stroke play event. In the event of a tie at the completion of play, the Championship will be decided by a sudden death playoff which will begin immediately at the conclusion of regular play. All players should keep informed as to the time and status of any playoff.

Please note: The MGA reserves the right to alter second round tee times and pairings.
Eligibility

The competition is open to male amateur golfers who reside in the MGA territory and do not have playing privileges at any course (e.g. a golf facility outside of the Met Area) at which the general public is excluded. A person who does not reside in the MGA territory, and who is not a full-time student or employed in the MGA territory, cannot join a club for the purpose of entering the MGA Public Links Championship.

All entrants must have an individual up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men not exceeding 8.0 under the World Handicap System and are subject to the MGA Rules and Regulations.

Exemption Categories
(if otherwise eligible)

1. MGA Public Links Champions for the last 5 years

2. Past Champions of Ike, Met Amateur, Met Open, and MGA Mid-Amateur.

3. Five lowest scores (& ties) in the 2023 MGA Public Links Championship

4. Reigning Ike, Amateur, Mid-Am, Junior, and Carter Cup Champions

5. Low Amateur in the 2023 Met Open Championship and 2023 NYSGA Amateur Champion

6. Reigning WGA, NJSGA and CSGA Public Links Champions (as of June 4th)

7. Reigning NJSGA, WGA, NYC, and CSGA Amateur Champions (as of June 4th)

8. The 2023 MGA Player of the Year Honor Roll

9. Anyone exempt for the Met Amateur and/or Met Open Championships will also be exempt to the MGA Public Links Championship

10. Club Champion at the Championship Host Club

11. Special invitees of the MGA Executive Committee
