HISTORY
The English Senior Men's Stroke Play Championship was first played in 1981 at Copt Heath Golf Club. Originally a 36 hole Championship, in 1988 it became a 54 hole event played over two courses.
Last year, Lancashire's Trevor Forster claimed a one-shot victory over two time Champion Ian Attoe. Foster, who held the lead going into the final round, fought off the challenge from the past winner to add the English title to already glittering golfing resume.
