HISTORY
The English Mid-Amateur Open Stroke Play Championship is more commonly known as The Logan Trophy after its donor George Logan, President of the English Golf Union in 1987.
Logan presented this trophy in 1988 and illustrious list of past champions include the initial winner, Peter McEvoy, and former England Captain Colin Edwards (2007). Four men have completed the impressive feat of winning the Logan Trophy on 3 occasions, but only one player has achieved this in successive years. Charlie Banks, who won the Brabazon Trophy in 1983, followed up his triumphs in 1995 and 1996 by winning the 1997 Championship at Stockport Golf Club to complete the hat-trick.
