Format |
18-hole on site Stroke Play qualifier to determine 16 players for match play.
After the first 18-holes on Thursday, July 30th, the field will be cut to the low 16 qualifiers for match play.
In the event of a tie for the last qualifiers place, a hole-by-hole playoff will be immediately conducted to determine the final qualifiers.

Match Play Seeding |
General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in the qualifying round will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by the order of finish in the play-off.

Eligibility |
The competition is open to amateur golfers who are members of an MGA Member Club. A person who does not reside in the MGA territory and who is not a full-time student or employed in the MGA territory, cannot join an MGA Member Club for the purpose of entering the Met Amateur Championship. All entrants must have an individual up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men not exceeding 5.0 under the USGA Rules of Handicapping and are subject to the MGA Rules and Regulations.

Category 5 – Modified to ‘Current’ Champion instead of ‘2020’
Category 7 – Modified to ‘Current’ Champion instead of ‘2020’
Category 11 – Due to the limited schedule prior to the start of Qualifying, all players who made match play in the 2019 Met Amateur will be exempt into the 2020 Met Amateur Championship. This exemption will replace the ‘Five Leaders on the 2020 MGA Player of the Year list”
Category 12 - Addition of the 2020 Met Junior Champion as an exemption for the Met Amateur due to the expanded field and timing of the Junior Championship.
Category 13 – Modified from top 500 to top 750
