High Post Golf Club

With its stunning views, High Post Golf Club - named after the site of an ancient gallows - is located on the southern reaches of Salisbury Plain, close to Stonehenge and the historical cathedral city of Salisbury. The Course provides an enjoyable and challenging test for golfers of every level, requiring strategic thinking as well as some power and finesse. The opening 3 holes, usually played with the wind, get you off to a flying start, the 9th was Peter Alliss’ favourite hole, the closing 3 holes, including 16th, a par 4, Stroke Index 2, provide a tough finish.

Described in Today’s Golfer: Owing to the chalk downland and free draining terrain, it is playable all year round - winter tees and greens just don't exist at High Post which has a reputation for being one of the finest downland layouts in the land.

Many of the original features of the Hawtree and Taylor design, most notably the bunkers, the disguised grassy hollows and subtle greens to die for, are still evident today.
