ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The English Girls' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is open to female golfers aged under 18 on the 1 January of the year of the championship and is played by 72 holes of stroke play over three days.

144 players will play 18 holes on each of the first two days, before the leading 40 competitors and ties play a further 36 holes on the final day.

 

 

2025 VENUE

Records begin with the Club’s formation in 1895, moving to our present location in 1912 when the Sixth Duke of Portland granted the lease of a portion of his Welbeck Estate for the pursuance of the game of golf. Only four years later Sherwood Forest record courtesy of the course being granted to Officers of the Scottish Highland Infantry Regiments in trench warfare training camps adjacent to the twelfth tee.
