HISTORY
The English Senior Men's Stroke Play Championship was first played in 1981 at Copt Heath Golf Club. Originally a 36 hole Championship, in 1988 it became a 54 hole event played over two courses.
This year, Ronnie Clark was able to defend against previous winner Trevor Foster. After shooting the same score of 215 it was down to a sudden death play off which after a hard fought battle led to Clark taking the English title.
