Handicap Calculation

We will be following USGA Rules of Handicapping to establish each team’s Playing Handicap and using the Recommended Handicap Allowance for a 2-person scramble of 35% of the low player’s handicap and 15% of the other player's handicap, adjusted for the respective tee’s rating and slope.

For example, here is a calculation for the team of Bob (age 65 with a 11.2) and Tom (age 45 and a 9.8)

Tom is on the White - Men's tee, the slope is 130, the rating is 71.8, and the par is 72.
The Course Handicap is calculated as index * slope / 113 = 9.8 * 130 / 113 = 11.274....The Course Rating - Par adjustment of 71.8 - 72 = -0.2 is applied. The resulting Course Handicap is 11.074....

Bob is on the Green - Men's tee, the slope is 125, the rating is 67.8, and the par is 72.
The Course Handicap is calculated as index * slope / 113 = 11.2 * 125 / 113 = 12.389....The Course Rating - Par adjustment of 67.8 - 72 = -4.2 is applied. The resulting Course Handicap is 8.189....

The team Playing Handicap is calculated by sorting the individual Course Handicaps and multiplying them by the following weights: 0.35, 0.15. Therefore, the team handicap is round(0.35 * 8.189... + 0.15 * 11.074...) = 5

Your individual Course Handicap and your team's Playing Handicap will be indicated on the scorecard.

Players participating without an active GHIN handicap will be considered as having a 0 (zero) Handicap Index for purposes of scoring results and skins.
