13th Carolinas Mixed Team Championship
Kiawah Island Resort (Oak Point)
Kiawah Island, SC
August 18-19, 2018
The Carolinas Mixed Team Championship began in 2006. The championship is contested over 36 holes using a mixed format of four-ball stroke play and modified alternate shot. This competition includes gross scores only. Teams may choose to compete in any division in which they are eligible: Championship Division, Tournament Division (shorter course), Senior Division (ages 55+ for males, ages 50+ for females) and Super Senior Division (ages 65+ for males and females). The Tournament, Senior and Super Senior Divisions are pre-flighted by total team Handicap Index using the following formula: 2/3 of lower Handicap Index to 1/3 of higher Handicap Index. The first round is a four-ball stroke play format in which each team member plays their own ball and the best score of the two balls counts. The second round is a modified alternate shot stroke play format in which both team members hit from their respective teeing ground and then select the ball to be played. Team members then alternate strokes until the ball is holed. Entry is open to any team comprised of a male amateur golfer and a female amateur golfer who have reached their 13th birthday by August 18, 2018, are the legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, are members in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and have active GHIN® USGA Handicap Indexes®.
