Welcome to the 2023 HARVEST MOON

Welcome Harvest Moon competitors,

We look forward to hosting you this weekend. Some things to note:

  • The draw times begin at 8:00AM on Friday at Brudenell and 7:30AM at Dundarave on Saturday, both days are straight tee time starts.

  • You must check in to the Golf Shop prior to each round to receive your official scorecard. Scorecards are traded with the other team in your group and must be signed and verified before returning them to the Golf Shop after your round.

  • Saturday morning draw will begin at 7:30AM with Sr Men's Division, Ladies Division then Men's Division Fourth Flight, Third Flight, Second Flight, and First Flight. Teams must play in their designated flight on Saturday to be eligible for prizes.

  • The Men's Division will have four flights, your placement in a flight is determined by the lowest playing handicap of either partner. Handicaps for the Men's Division flights were determined using your Golf Canada index as of Friday, Aug 18 using the slope and rating from the white tees on Dundarave. The Ladies and Sr Men's Division will only have one flight.

  • Men's Division will play from the White tees, Sr Men will play from the Green tees, and Ladies will play from the Red tees.

  • The event is a two person scramble. Winners are determined by the lowest total gross score over two days.

  • Prize values are based on the number of entries in each Division.

  • Rules for the event will be attached to your scorecard on the first day, please keep this on hand for day two.

  • Clean up from Fiona is an ongoing process and there are sections of both courses that will be played as ground under repair; for example the right side of Brudenell hole 8 where many trees have been taken out.

  • Ground Under Repair Rule:

Ground under repair is an area on the golf course considered unfit for play. A player can drop out of this area with no penalty. Ground under repair is normally marked by a white circle or stakes.

When dropping from ground under repair, you must take the nearest point of relief (stance) and one club length. Make sure you drop the ball no closer to the hole. The ball must be dropped from knee-height.

If you are still standing in the ground under repair after you dropped, you must drop again. Your ball is in play after you have dropped and there is no interference from the ground under repair.

It is not mandatory to drop from ground under repair. You always have the option to play a ball from ground under repair unless the golf course or committee prohibits it.

Relief for Ball Not Found but in or on Abnormal Course Condition

If a player’s ball has not been found and it is known or virtually certain that the ball came to rest in or on an abnormal course condition on the course, the player may use this relief option instead of taking stroke-and-distance relief:

  • The player may take relief under Rule 16.1bc or d, using the estimated point where the ball last crossed the edge of the abnormal course condition on the course as the spot of the ball for purposes of finding the nearest point of complete relief.
  • Once the player puts another ball in play to take relief in this way:
    • The original ball is no longer in play and must not be played.
    • This is true even if it is then found on the course before the end of the three-minute search time (see Rule 6.3b).

But if it is not known or virtually certain that the ball came to rest in or on an abnormal course condition and the ball is lost, the player must take stroke-and-distance relief under Rule 18.2.

  • Driver Draw - We will be selling tickets on a driver of your choice (value up to $800) on Friday. Tickets will cost $10 each or 3 for $20. Draw will take place after Friday's round.

Enjoy the weekend, play well!
