Format:

36-Hole Individual Stableford-Flighted by handicap

What is Stableford? 

Instead of counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, Stableford involves scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole.

Unlike traditional scoring methods, where the aim is to have the lowest score, under Stableford rules, the objective is to have the highest score. The number of points awarded on each hole is determined based on comparison of the number of strokes taken to par.

Once players have taken two strokes more than net par, they may abandon the hole and move on to the next, as it is then not possible to score any points on that hole.

Because of this, it is still possible to be competitive even allowing for a few bad holes. At the end of the round, the number of points scored on each hole is totaled to give a final score.

The winner of a Stableford competition is the player with the highest point total. It’s a great format for players of all abilities because no one can get “trapped” on a hole as you don’t have to finish any hole.  It also speeds up play for the same reason.

Competitors:

• A player must have a current verifiable handicap issued through the SNGA.
• A player must be at least fifty years of age prior to the first day of the tournament.
• A player must meet amateur status as specified in the Rules of Golf.

Handicap:

• Limited to a maximum of 36 course handicap.
• Players with a higher handicap may play but will be limited to a maximum 36 course handicap.
• Handicaps used will be the effective Date of Sept 25, 2023.

Registration:

Registration opens August 1, 2023, and closes September 25, 2023. 

Pick your Cart Mate:

At the time of registration, the player may name another player to be her cart mate.  This is not a team event - but you will have a choice of one person who will be in your foursome.  If you have no preference, we will pair you.

No refunds will be given after the closing date.  There will be an automatic $25 processing fee associated with any refund issued for a cancellation prior to the registration closing date.

Awards:

Gross/Net at least 1/3 of the field will be paid out.

There will be trophies for over the field net and gross with flight winners receiving medals.

Lunch:

Lunch will be served immediately following play on October 3.

Requirements:

Soft Spikes are mandatory. WSNGA dress code is in effect. Cellular phones not to be used during tournament play.

Yardages:

The tournament will occur from the forward tees at 5340 yards.  The course is rated 69.5/122.
