COMPETITION RULES

 

Administration

 

  1. Bromsgrove International School Thailand (BIST) will be responsible for the administration of the tournament.

  2. Play will be governed by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the local rules of the Golf Club.

  3. The Thailand Golf Association will provide two referees to enforce and advise competitors regarding R&A and local rules on the course (one to be present on each nine), with an additional referee to monitor slow play. 

  4. The Tournament Director, in consultation with the TGA referees, will adjudicate any protests, claims, questions, or doubts arising from the tournament and his decision shall be final.

 

Conditions of Entries

 

  1. The tournament is an open invitation to all international schools. Flights will be determined from the participant’s age on 1st August 2023. 108 players max.

  2. The event will occur on Monday 29th January 2024. Entries will not be accepted after the deadline of 23th January 2024 at 10.00 pm. Please follow the 'registration' link within this event portal to download the entry form and follow the instructions.

  3. The entrance fee per player is 3,500 THB. The entrance fee includes a green fee, caddy fee, range token, tournament fees, dinner buffet, cart, and prizes. A caddy tip is discretionary and not included.

  4. A handicap limit of 24 for all males and females will be applied to all entries.

  5. Markers must check and sign the scorecard before submission.

 

Conditions of Play

 

  1. Boys and Girls of all Flights, will play 18 holes stroke play, gross scores counting towards both the Individual Competition and the Team Competition.

  2. Individual competition will be conducted for the following age groups. *The competitor age will be determined by the entrants age on 1st August 2023. The following tee boxes will be play:

Scorecard

 

  1. Ties for the individual awards will be determined by card count-back, starting with back 9, then back 6, then back 3. If it is still a tie hole by hole count back will begin starting from the 18th hole until a winner is determined.

  2. In the event of a tie for the overall male and female champion, a play off will begin at hole 18. If a winner is not decided the playoff will continue playing hole 18 till an individual winner is determined.

  3. Winners of the Scratch Team Competition (8 per team) will be determined by combining four low gross scores within the team. Male and Female Team prizes will be determined by combining the 2 lowest male and two lowest female gross scores within the team.

  4. The Nett Team Competition will be determined by the best 4 nett stableford scores within a team.

  5. If a tie arises for the team prize the winner shall be decided by the Tournament Committee. The decision of the Tournament Committee is final and binding.

  6. The Tournament Committee wishes to draw the attention of all participants to the rules regarding slow play and undue delay. A group will first be put on the clock and issued a warning before a 2 strokes penalty will be given to those offending individuals; for repeat offense – DISQUALIFICATION.

  7. Participants must report to the starter ten minutes before their stipulated times. Participants are reminded of Rule 6-3 ‘If the player arrives at his starting tee, ready to play, within 5 minutes after his scheduled tee time, the penalty for failure to start on time will be 2 strokes. Penalty for more than 5 minutes late – DISQUALIFICATION’.

  8. Participants not properly attired will not be allowed to play on the course. Sports shirts with collars, golf shirts, golf skirts, or trousers, golf Bermuda’s, and proper golf shoes must be worn.

  9. Parents will be allowed to watch around the clubhouse. If parents want to go on course have to buy golf cart (700bath per cart / can share)

  10. Players should not exchange conversations with the gallery. Galleries are advised to their keep distance from the players. This rule applies to both parents and coaches. 1st offence – warning , and 2nd offence 2 stroke penalty.

  11. Protests: Disputes or protests must be made in writing and be lodged with the Tournament Committee within 10 minutes of the completion of the competitor’s round.

  12. Caddies: All players must avail themselves of the services of a Golf Club's Caddies.

 

4. Prizes

 

  1. Individual Gross awards will be given for the top 3 males and females of each flight, and overall best male and female.

  2. Individual Nett awards will be given to the winning male / female of each flight, and the overall best male and female.

  3. Gross Team awards will be given to the Team Champions, Runners-up Team, and 3rd Place Team.

  4. Nett Team award will be given to the nett team winners.

  5. Prizes will be awarded for nearest the Pin on par 3s (Hole 5/ 7/ 12/ 14)
