Format (s) : (Hickory 9-Four-Ball, Highlands Front-Pinehurst, Highlands Back-Shamble) There will be Net and Gross scoring using Stableford points; Bogey (1 pt), Par (2pts), Birdie (3pts), Eagle or Hole in One on Par 3(4pts), and Double Eagle (5 pts).
Note: In an event the utilizes Stableford scoring it is only necessary to hole out if you or your partner is putting for a score of Net Bogey or better. Any score above a Net Bogey is ZERO (0) points.
Note: For each format your 18-hole Handicap Index is halved and converted to a 9-hole Course Handicap using the USGA Slope Rating for the 9-hole course you are competing on. The handicap allowances for each format are indicated below.
Four-Ball
Hickory Front 9 (Holes #1-9) – Four-Ball (HCP Allowance – 90% Course Handicap). Both team members play their own ball until it is holed. The low score of the two man team is the team score.
Pinehurst
Highlands Front (Holes # 1-9) – Pinehurst (HCP Allowance – 60 % Low Course Handicap, 40 % High Course Handicap). Both players tee off, play each other’s second shot and select the better 3rd shot to play alternate shot until the ball is holed.
Shamble
Highlands Back (Holes # 10-18) - Shamble (HCP Allowance– 90 % Course Handicap). Both players tee off – the better of the two drives is selected and both play their own ball from that location until it is holed out. The low score of the two-man team is the team score.
* It is recommended that the Committee considers it a condition of four-ball stroke play competitions that the Course Handicap (after allowance) of the members of a side may not differ by more than eight strokes. A side with a large difference has an advantage over a side with a small Course Handicap difference. If a difference of more than eight strokes cannot be avoided, it is suggested that an additional 10 percent reduction be applied to the Course Handicap of each member of the advantaged side.
Cart and Caddie Info:
All participants will be required to take a golf cart and will be assigned a Hamilton Farm forecaddie. The base forecaddie rate is covered in your entry fee. It is recommended that you tip the forecaddie a minimum of $40 per person for their 27-holes of service.
