Event format
The event format for the individual grades is single stableford over four rounds.
Handicaps: Each player is personally responsible for ensuring that he or she is playing off the correct daily handicap on each day.
Grades: Grades are determined according to divisions made between GA Handicaps. Players remain in the grades in which they started the tournament, irrespective of changes to their handicap during the event. The individual grades in 2024 are:
A Grade GA Handicaps from 0 – 11.9
B Grade GA Handicaps from 12 – 19.9
C Grade GA Handicaps from 20 and above
Briefing: There will be player briefings before the shotgun starts.
Dress Standards: Neat & Proper golf attire. Collared shirts & closed shoes are required for all players.
Splitting ties: Players are reminded that there will be no play-offs, and countbacks will be used to separate tied scores.
Prizes: At the Presentation Dinner on Friday evening, we will present trophies and prizes to the leading players in each grade.
Pace of play: Players are reminded that maintaining a good pace of play is extremely important. Please:
- Play Ready Golf at all times.
- Pick up your ball if you have scratched a hole.
- Prepare for your shot while your partners are playing.
- Move quickly between shots.
- Keep up with the group in front.
Weather: If there is storm activity during play and the possibility of lightning, sirens will be sounded on the course and players are to mark their balls and return to the clubhouse.
Scoring:
We are using the Golf Genius App for event scoring. Please search for Golf Genius in the Apple App Store or Android equivalent. Prior to tee off each day, please enter into the App the Golf Genius ID (GGID) sent to you by SMS.
One person in each group will input all four players' stroke scores into the App after each hole, while another player will act as their marker. Golf Genius will then automatically calculate the Stableford scores.
(Note: While we intend to use Golf Genius for our scoring system, there is uncertainty around Phone coverage on the courses. We are requiring all groups to carry a paper scorecard as a backup, with one player from each group responsible for marking all scores for their group.)
After golf, compare your hard copy scorecard and the virtual scores on the App to ensure they match before finalising all the scores for the group via the App.
