2023 North Coast Junior Masters
Kew Country Club – Additional Local Rules
(To be read in conjunction with the Golf NSW and JNJG Local Rules and the Rules of Golf as adopted by the R&A)
PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES
1. Out of Bounds
1.1 Practice Fairway. The practice fairway, as defined by white stakes with black stripes, is Internal out of bounds. This extends to the fence line on the eastern end of the course.
2. Ground under Repair
2.1. All gardens and mulch / woodchip covered areas (note – the hedge to the right of the 9th green is NOT a garden and is therefore in play)
2.2. Any roped off areas.
2.3. Bare patches on closely mown areas (fairway).
2.4. Exposed tree roots on closely mown areas (fairways).
2.5. Clearly defined vehicle and machinery tracks (through the green).
2.6. Artificially surfaced roads and paths (through the green).
2.7. Aeration Holes on the Putting Green. Any ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be lifted, without penalty, and placed at the nearest spot no nearer the hole that avoids the aeration hole.
2.8. Relief on Greens – line of putt relief can be taken to avoid putting over bare patches on the green. Relief must be the nearest point of relief, which gives a clear line of putt to the hole, taking into account the anticipated path of travel of the putt.
3. Immovable Obstructions
3.1. All hazard / G.U.R / Distance Marker Pegs / stakes. This DOES NOT include O.O.B pegs / stakes.
3.2. The bollard and rope fence between the 9th and 10th fairways.
4. Creek Crossings
4.1. All creek crossings are an integral part of the course. Relief may not be taken without penalty.
5. Drop Zone – 5th Hole
5.1. If a player’s drive on the 5th hole fails to cross the margin of the hazard on the far side of the dam, the player has the option to use the drop zone which is located near the white plates on the right hand side of the dam.
6. Scoring Area
6.1. A player’s scorecard is deemed officially returned to the Committee when the player has left the designated scoring area.
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE IS THE GENERAL PENALTY:
Stroke Play - Two Strokes | Match Play - Loss of Hole
