ENTRY DEADLINES

  • Registration Opens: Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 12:00pm EDT
  • Early Entry Deadline: Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 5:00pm EDT
  • Final Registration Deadline: Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 5:00pm EDT

 

Two entry deadlines have been established.  The “Early Entry Deadline” will permit Golf Canada to accept players prior to the “Final Registration Deadline” and allow more time to plan travel.  Early entry into the championship is at the discretion of the Golf Canada Selection Committee.  At least 50 of the players registered prior to the Early Entry Deadline for each championship will be accepted into the championship.

 

Note: If the field is under-subscribed after the entry deadline, Golf Canada reserves the right to accept all eligible applications and extend the entry deadline by up to two weeks

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Junior: This competition is open to female amateur golfers who have not reached their 19th birthday by August 1, 2023.
  • Juvenile: This competition is open to female amateur golfers who have not reached their 17th birthday by August 1, 2023.
  • Handicap Index must be 17.4 or less on the date of the application filing and at the registration deadline. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure their Handicap Index is up to date before the registration deadline. 
  • This competition is open to female amateur golfers who are members of a golf club belonging to Golf Canada or holds a Public Player membership with Golf Canada. Foreign players must be members in good standing with their respective association.
  • All applications are subject to approval or rejection by Golf Canada at any time before or after the start of play.
  • Any player who believes they are eligible to use the Modification for Players with Disabilities (Rules 25), should contact amchamps@golfcanada.ca at entry to confirm their eligibility to use the specific modifications in Rule 25.  Please refer to the Policy for Eligibility Requirements of Players with Disabilities under Rule 25 and the Rule 25 Request Form.

 

 

ENTRY FEE & APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • The entry fee for the Canadian Junior Girls Championship is $300 CAD (tax included).  
  • To apply, visit www.golfcanada.ca/competitions-calendar and click on the register link by the event you would like to participate in. 
  • Canadian players must register as a “member.”  You will then be instructed to log-in to Golf Genius, using their Golf Canada membership credentials. If you need assistance accessing your Golf Canada membership, please call 1-800-263-0009 x399 or email members@golfcanada.ca. 
  • International players must register as a "non-member:.
  • After registering, players will be listed as Pending. Payment will not be processed until a player is moved to Accepted. Remember to submit the application well in advance of 5:00pm EDT on the registration deadline. Late, incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be accepted and are not the responsibility of Golf Canada. 
  • Please note that Golf Canada only accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) as a method of payment.

 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

The Canadian Junior Girls Championship will feature a maximum of 156 players.  If the field is under-subscribed at the closing deadline, all eligible players will be accepted. If the field is over-subscribed at the closing deadline, the Golf Canada Selection Committee will select the field’s non-exempt players. Please note that members of provincial teams are exempt from the Handicap Index limit. Golf Canada reserves the right to revise the championship field based upon the entries received before the registration deadline of each event. 

 

Provincial Quota Spots

Each Provincial Golf Association has been allocated a quota of applications into the Canadian Junior Girls Championship. Each Provincial Golf Association will decide on how their quota will be filled.  All quota players must complete this application and submit it to Golf Canada within 48 hours following the completion of their provincial championship.  Unused quota spots past that deadline will be returned to Golf Canada for discretionary use.

CHAMPION EXEMPTIONS

The champion of the Canadian Junior Girls Championship earns an exemption into the following events:

  • 2023 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship
  • 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship (if eligible)

 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

The Canadian Junior Girls Championship is a 72-hole stroke play championship:

 

  • Junior and Juvenile Division: These competitions will run concurrently through completion of 72 holes.
  • Inter-Provincial Team Competition: This competition will run concurrently through completion of the first 36 holes. Each day, the lowest two out of three individual 18-hole scores will count towards the team score.


Day 1: Registration, Official Practice Round, and Player Reception

Day 2 & 3: Round 1 & 2 – 18 Holes of Stroke Play (morning & afternoon crossover)

Day 4: Round 3 – 18 Holes of Stroke Play (morning crossover only)

Day 5: Final Round – 18 Holes of Stroke Play (morning crossover only, followed promptly by Awards Ceremony)

 

 

CUT POLICY
After 36 holes the field will be reduced to the low 70 players and ties.  A minimum of 10 Juveniles will make the cut.

 

 

PLAY-OFFS

In the event of a tie for the individual or inter-provincial team competitions, it will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play (for the inter-provincial team competition, this will happen at the conclusion of play of the second round).  Any teams or players tied for other positions will remain tied.

 

In the event of a play-off for both the Junior and Juvenile division being required, the Committee will determine which play-off takes place first.  If a player is involved in both play-offs, separate events will take place to determine the winners.

 

 

REFUND POLICY AND NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

Application fees will be fully refunded if Golf Canada is notified (1-800-263-0009 ext. 208) of the player’s intention to withdraw prior to the registration deadline. Once selected into a championship, players are expected to participate. Application fees will not be refunded after the registration deadline without a doctor’s note or medical certificate. All refunds are subject to a $50 administrative fee. If a player wishes to withdraw prior to the start of a championship, they must notify Golf Canada well in advance in order to ensure an alternate fair opportunity to play. Failure to comply may result in DISQUALIFICATION from future Golf Canada competitions.

 

 

 

DATES LIMITES D’INSCRIPTION

  • Ouverture des inscriptions : Mercredi 15 mars 2023 à 12 h HAE
  • Échéance des préinscriptions : Mercredi 17 mai 2023 à 17 h HAE
  • Échéance des inscriptions finales : Mercredi 5 juillet 2023 à 17 h HAE

 

Deux dates limites d’inscription ont été établies. L’échéance des préinscriptions permet à Golf Canada d’accepter des joueuses avant l’échéance des inscriptions finales et laisse à celles-ci plus de temps pour préparer leur voyage. La préinscription aux championnats est acceptée à la discrétion du Comité de sélection de Golf Canada. Au moins 50 joueuses parmi celles préinscrites seront acceptées à ce championnat.

 

Remarque : Si le tableau de compétition n’est pas complet après la date limite d’inscription, Golf Canada se réserve le droit d’accepter toutes les demandes admissibles et de prolonger la date limite d’inscription jusqu’à deux semaines.

 

 

ADMISSIBILITÉ

  • Junior : Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs n’ayant pas atteint l’âge de 19 ans au 1er août 2023.
  • Juvénile : Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs n’ayant pas atteint l’âge de 17 ans au 1er août 2023.
  • L’index de handicap doit être de 17.4 ou moins en date de la demande d’inscription et d’échéance des inscriptions Il incombe à chaque joueuse de s’assurer que son index de handicap est à jour avant la date limite des inscriptions.
  • Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs qui sont membres d’un club de golf affilié à Golf Canada ou qui détiennent une adhésion de golfeuse publique à Golf Canada. Les joueuses étrangères doivent être membres en règle de leur association respective.
  • Toutes les demandes d’inscription sont soumises à l’approbation de Golf Canada qui se réserve le droit d’accepter ou de refuser toute inscription en tout temps, avant ou durant le tournoi.
  • Toute joueuse qui croit être admissible à l’utilisation de la Modifications pour les joueurs handicapés (Règle 25) devrait contacter amchamps@golfcanada.ca au moment de son inscription afin de confirmer son admissibilité à se prévaloir des modifications précises pertinentes de la Règle 25. Veuillez consulter la Politique relative aux exigences d’admissibilité des joueurs handicapés en vertu de la Règle 25 et le Formulaire de demande de la Règle 25.

Si vous avez besoin d’aide pour accéder à votre adhésion à Golf Canada, veuillez composer le 1-800-263-0009, poste 399, ou envoyer un courriel à membres@golfcanada.ca.
  • Les joueuses étrangères doivent s’inscrire en tant que « non-membre ».
  • Après s’être inscrites, les joueuses seront répertoriées comme étant En attente. Le paiement ne sera pas traité tant que la golfeuse ne sera pas passée dans la catégorie Accepté. N’oubliez pas de soumettre votre formulaire d’inscription bien avant l’échéance de 17 h (HAE) à la date limite des inscriptions. Les inscriptions en retard, incomplètes ou inexactes ne seront pas acceptées et ne relèvent pas de la responsabilité de Golf Canada.

TABLEAU DE COMPÉTITION

Le Championnat canadien junior féminin comptera un maximum de 156 joueuses. Si le nombre de participantes inscrites est insuffisant à la date limite, toutes les joueuses admissibles seront acceptées. Si le tableau de compétition compte trop de joueuses inscrites à la date limite, le Comité de sélection de Golf Canada choisira les joueuses non exemptées au tableau. Veuillez noter que les membres des équipes provinciales ne sont pas assujetties à la limite d’index de handicap. Golf Canada se réserve le droit de réviser le tableau de compétition des championnats en fonction des inscriptions reçues avant la date limite d’inscription de chaque tournoi.

 

Quotas provinciaux

Chaque association provinciale de golf dispose d’un quota d’inscriptions au Championnat canadien junior féminin. Chaque association provinciale décide de la composition de son contingent. Toutes les joueuses désignées par leur association provinciale doivent remplir ce formulaire d’inscription et le faire parvenir à Golf Canada dans les 48 heures suivant la conclusion de leur championnat provincial. Les places qui n’auront pas été utilisées par une province dans les délais prescrits reviendront à Golf Canada qui les utilisera à sa discrétion.

EXEMPTIONS DE LA CHAMPIONNE

La gagnante du Championnat canadien junior féminin obtient une exemption pour participer aux tournois suivants :

  • Championnat canadien amateur féminin 2023
  • Championnat junior féminin des États-Unis 2024 (si admissible)

 

 

FORMULE DE COMPÉTITION

Le Championnat canadien junior féminin sera disputé en parties par coups sur 72 trous :

 

  • Catégories junior et juvénile : Cette compétition se disputera simultanément jusqu’à la conclusion du jeu sur 72 trous.
  • Compétition interprovinciale par équipes : Cette épreuve se disputera en même temps que les premiers 36 trous. Chaque jour, les deux scores les plus bas des trois scores individuels sur 18 trous compteront pour le score d’équipe.

 

Jour 1 : Enregistrement, ronde officielle d’entraînement et réception des joueuses.

Jours 2 et 3 : Rondes 1 et 2 – 18 trous en parties par coups (croisement le matin et l’après-midi)

Jour 4 : Ronde 3 – 18 trous en partie par coups (croisement le matin)

Jour 5 : Ronde finale – 18 trous en partie par coups (croisement le matin, cérémonie de remise des prix immédiatement après le jeu)

 

 

POLITIQUE DE COUPERET

Après 36 trous, le tableau sera ramené aux 70 premières places, y compris les égalités. Un minimum de 10 juvéniles seront qualifiées pour la finale.

 

 

PROLONGATION

En cas d’égalité pour la victoire de la compétition individuelle ou interprovinciale par équipes, le départage se fera par prolongation trou-par-trou immédiatement après la fin du jeu réglementaire (pour la compétition interprovinciale par équipes, ce sera à la conclusion du jeu de deuxième ronde). Les équipes ou les joueuses à égalité pour d’autres positions resteront à égalité.

 

Si une prolongation s’impose dans les deux catégories, junior et juvénile, le Comité de tournoi déterminera quelle prolongation disputer en premier. Si une joueuse doit participer aux deux prolongations, des épreuves séparées auront lieu pour déterminer les gagnantes.

 

 

POLITIQUE DE REMBOURSEMENT ET AVIS DE RETRAIT

Les frais d’inscription seront entièrement remboursés si Golf Canada est avisée (au 1-800-263-0009, poste 251) de l’intention de la joueuse de se retirer avant la date limite d’inscription. Une fois sélectionnées pour un championnat, les joueuses sont tenues d’y participer. Les frais d’inscription ne seront pas remboursés après la date limite d’inscription sans présentation d’un certificat médical. Les remboursements sont soumis à des frais d’administration de 50 $. Si une joueuse souhaite se retirer avant le début d’un championnat, elle doit en aviser Golf Canada bien à l’avance afin de donner une chance équitable à une remplaçante de jouer. À défaut de respecter cette obligation, la joueuse s’expose à une DISQUALIFICATION des futures compétitions de Golf Canada.
