The Format

The Breakfast Club format is a version of the 'Chicago' game and is called "39".

Each player will subtract their course handicap from 39 and the resultant number is that player's "hurdle" they must overcome. Points are awarded on each hole based on GROSS scores and all points earned are deducted from the players "hurdle".

For example a player with a 12 handicap would have a hurdle of 27 (39-12). All points scored are deducted from the 27 on the following gross scores:

Double Bogie or worse = -1 points

Bogie = 1 point

Par = 2 points

Birdie = 3 points

Eagle = 4 points

The goal is to finish the 18-hole round with the lowest number of points.

10 players receive Breakfast Club points each Saturday (unless there is a tie in the "Low Player 10" position). The following example demonstrates how ties will be handled under the new "Biglow" rule.

SAMPLE SCORES
Low Player 1: Score of -2 points receives 10 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 2: Score of -2 points receives 10 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 3: Score of 1 point receives 8 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 4: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 5: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points
Low Player 6: Score of 2 points receives 7 Breakfast Club points

Low Player 8: Score of 4 points receives 3 Breakfast Club points
