Welcome to the 2023 Storey Creek Men's Labour Day Amateur Tournament! It's our aim to answer all questions you may have for our event on this page. If you are unable to find your answer, please click on the orange help button to email our Head Professional, Steven MacPherson.

 

Tournament Format:

54 Holes Strokeplay

Maximum Handicap Index 18.0

 

There are optional Flighted Skins available. Players are divided into three flights for Skins. 

Skins cost $30 across the weekend (and are available at the same time players complete registration).

 

Players will be challenged with flighted KP's each day 

 

Players will also be able to purchase Raffle and 50/50 tickets across the weekend. All money goes towards the event prize table.

 

Prize Distribution: 

Prizes distributed 50% Gross, 50% Net

 

Tees:

The golf course plays approx: 6200-6400 yards

This is mainly Blue, Chinook Tees with a sprinkle of Gold Tyee and White Coho Tees

 

Handicap:

Players need a current Golf Canada Handicap to be eligible for prizes in the Net Division. The Pro Shop will freeze all players indexes prior to completing the 1st round draw. 

 

Pairings: 

To ensure the integrity of the event, and to promote the social aspect, (meeting your new best friends for life), the Pro Shop will draw playing partners each day.

We understand that many players are carpooling so please email Steven (smacpherson@storeycreek.ca) with your tee time requests.

 

We will make the best effort to keep similar playing handicaps together. Monday's draw will be based on Round 1 and 2 Gross score with leaders teeing off later in the day.

 

Tee Times:

7:30am - 9:18am 1st and 10th Tee Crossover Start

12:30pm - 2:18pm 1st and 10th Tee Crossover Start

 

 

The draw for the first and second rounds take place at the start of the week preceding the event and will be emailed to all competitors, as well as posted in this Tournament Portal.

The draw for the third round takes place Sunday evening and will again be emailed and posted, along with Day 1 and 2 scores and winners.

 

Power Carts:

Carts are available for the tournament. They can be purchased as a whole cart or by cart seat at Registration.

 

Push Carts:

Rental Push Carts are available for rent. We have a fleet of 30. For players bringing their own push carts, unfortunately we have no space to store them during your stay.

 

Pace of Play:

Each competitor that enters this and other events hopes for good pace of play. This tournament has seen good pace and poor pace in the past. We request that players do ALL they can to maintain pace with the group ahead of them. 

 

Practice Rounds:

Practice rounds can be reserved for each of the seven days before the tournament at a discounted rate of just $50. Regular rate is $89 May-September.

Meals:

Players will receive a meal after their round each day. Our F&B Manager, Marty Smith will send menus out in advance of tournament weekend. For those with dietary concerns please contact Marty and advise so we can prepare you suitable meals. To email Marty CLICK HERE.

 

Refund:

In organising the three major tournaments we stage at Storey Creek each year, the Mixed, the Crystal and the Labour Day, each event suffers from a large percentage of withdrawals over the final few days. This can throw the finalised draw into disarray. Food costs, Green fees costs and Admin costs also occur. This year we have a late cancellation program in place. Please be advised.

 

  • 95% Refund if Team cancels 30 days or more before event start date.
  • 75% Refund if Team cancels 7 days to 29 days before event start date.
  • 50% Refund if Team cancels less than 7 days before event start date.

 

Warm Up Basket:

All players receive a complimentary warm up basket before play begins.
