GROSS MATCH PLAY 2024

 

What is Non-Championship Flighted Gross Match Play?

• It is gross match play flighted by handicap, with multiple brackets, and the goal is to win your bracket.
• For example, the first bracket may have players with handicap indexes ranging from 10 to 14, the second bracket has 15 to 19, and the third bracket has 20 and up.
• Bracket winners do not play each other. Win your bracket and you are done.
• With an 8-person bracket, the finalist wins about $67, the winner gets about $133.
• With a 7-person bracket, about $60 and $115; with a 6-person bracket, $50 and $100.
• The champions in the Gross Championship and the Sr Gross Championship get to play in the Champion of Champions tournament put on by WA Golf at the end of April.
• The Non-championship winners are not eligible for that honor.

 

ENTRY FEE:                       $20 per player

 

ENTRY DEADLINE:          JUNE 18

 

START DATE:                     JULY 1

 

ELIGIBILITY:                     Not playing in the Championship Gross Match Play

 

FORMAT:                             White Tees

Play sudden death if tied after 18 holes, starting on the first hole.

It is likely only three rounds will be necessary. The schedule will be finalized after the entry deadline.

 

If one player cannot play during the allotted time for a round, he forfeits his match.

If players have not been able to play their matches on schedule, a coin toss will decide the victor.

The exception to the prior ruling is if one player is largely unavailable during the allotted time for a match; he forfeits the match.
