Note: If the field is under-subscribed after the entry deadline, Golf Canada reserves the right to accept all eligible applications and extend the entry deadline by one week.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

  • NextGen Championships are open to:
    • Male and female amateur golfers who have not reached their 19th birthday by August 1, 2023.
    • Members of a golf club belonging to Golf Canada or holds a Public Player membership with Golf Canada. Foreign players must be members in good standing with their respective association.
    • All applications are subject to approval or rejection by Golf Canada at any time before or after the start of play.

 

 

ENTRY FEE & APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 

The entry fee for the NextGen Quebec Championship, fueled by JOURNIE Rewards is $250 CAD (tax included).  

 

To apply, visit www.golfcanada.ca/competitions-calendar and click on the register link by the event you would like to participate in. Players will then be instructed to log-in to Golf Genius, using their Golf Canada membership credentials. If you need assistance accessing your Golf Canada membership, please call 1-800-263-0009 x399 or email members@golfcanada.ca. Foreign players must register as a "non-member." 

 

After registering, players will be listed as “Pending.” Payment will not be processed until a player is moved to “Accepted.” Remember to submit the application well in advance of 5:00pm EDT on the registration deadline. Late, incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be accepted and are not the responsibility of Golf Canada. Once a player is accepted into a championship and payment has been processed, entry fees are non-refundable.

 

Please note that Golf Canada only accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) as a method of payment.

 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

 

The NextGen Quebec Championship, fueled by JOURNIE Rewards will be comprised of 156 players.

 

2/3 of each division must represent players from the host province (or host region for the NextGen Prairie & Atlantic Championships).

 

If the field is under-subscribed at the closing deadline, all elgibile players will be accepted. If the field is over-subscribed at the closing deadline, the Golf Canada Selection Committee will select the field’s non-exempt players. Golf Canada reserves the right to revise the championship field based upon the entries received before the registration deadline of each event. 

 

EXEMPTION CRITERIA

 

If eligible, the following individuals are exempt into any two (2) NextGen Championships and one (1) NextGen Fall Series Championship:

 

  • [1] National Junior & Amateur Squad Members 
  • [2] All players who made the cut at the 2022 Canadian Junior Boys Championship and 2022 Canadian Junior Girls Championship. 
  • [3] The top 10 boys and top 5 girls from the Junior division at each of the 2022 NextGen Championship. 
  • [4] The top 5 boys and top 5 girls from the Bantam division at each of the 2022 NextGen Fall Series Championship. 
  • [5] 2022 Junior Skills Challenge - National Event Champions – Boys/Girls 15-18 division.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

 

The NextGen Quebec Championship, fueled by JOURNIE Rewards is a 54-hole championship and a counting event towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

  • Junior Boys Division: This competition will run concurrently through completion of 54 holes.
  • Junior Girls Division: This competition will run concurrently through completion of 54 holes.

 

Cut After 36 Holes

The field will be reduced to approximately 70 players for the final round. The cut line for both the Junior Boys & Junior Girls will be established once the field size is final.  This is only applicable for the NextGen Pacific, Ontario & Québec Championship where the maximum field sizes have been increased to 156 players.

 

Exemptions into National Championships

  • The Top Eight (8) players in the Junior Boys division of the NextGen Quebec Championship will earn exemptions into the 2023 Canadian Junior Boys Championship, August 13-17, at North Bay Golf & Country Club Ltd in North Bay, Ontario
  • The Top Eight (8) players in the Junior Girls division of the NextGen Quebec Championship will earn exemptions into the 2023 Canadian Junior Girls Championship, July 23-27, at Hampton Golf Club in Hampton, New Brunswick. 

 

Play-Offs

A tie for 1st place in both the Junior Boys and Girls division, or a tie for an exemption spot in the Junior Boys division, will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following conclusion of play.  Please keep this in mind when making travel arrangements on the final day.

 

 

REFUND POLICY & NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

 

Application fees will be fully refunded if Golf Canada is notified (1-800-263-0009 ext. 250) of the player’s intention to withdraw prior to the registration deadline. Once selected into a championship, players are expected to participate. Application fees will not be refunded after the application deadline without a medical certificate. Refunds are subject to a $50 administrative fee. If a player wishes to withdraw prior to the start of a championship, he/she must notify Golf Canada well in advance in order to ensure an alternate fair opportunity to play. Failure to comply may result in DISQUALIFICATION from future Golf Canada competitions.

  • Date limite d’inscription : mercredi 14 juin 2023 à 17 h HE

  

Remarque : Si le tableau de compétition n’est pas complet après la date limite d’inscription, Golf Canada se réserve le droit d’accepter toutes les demandes admissibles et de prolonger d’une semaine la date limite d’inscription.

  

  

ADMISSIBILITÉ 

Les championnats NextGen sont ouverts à :

  • Tout golfeur et toute golfeuse de niveau amateur n’ayant pas atteint l’âge de 19 ans en date du 1er août 2023.  
  • Membres d’un club de golf affilié à Golf Canada ou golfeur public membre de Golf Canada. Les joueurs étrangers doivent être membres en règle de leur association respective.
  • Toutes les demandes d’inscription seront soumises à l’approbation de Golf Canada, qui se réserve le droit d’accepter ou de refuser toute inscription en tout temps, avant ou durant le tournoi. 

  

  

PROCÉDURE ET FRAIS D’INSCRIPTION

Les frais d’inscription pour le Championnat NextGen du Québec, propulsé par JOURNIE Récompenses, est de 250  $CAN (taxes comprises).

 

Visitez le site www.golfcanada.ca/fr/calendrier-de-competitions et cliquez sur « Inscription » à l’extrême droite de la ligne correspondant au championnat qui vous intéresse dans le calendrier des compétitions. Les athlètes seront alors invités à se connecter à Golf Genius, en utilisant leurs identifiants de membre de Golf Canada. Si vous avez besoin d’aide pour accéder à votre adhésion à Golf Canada, veuillez composer le 1-800-263-0009, poste 399, ou envoyer un courriel à membres@golfcanada.ca.  Les joueurs étrangers doivent s’inscrire en tant que « non-membre ».

 

Après leur inscription, les joueurs seront inscrits comme étant « En attente ». Le paiement ne sera pas traité tant que le joueur ne sera pas passé dans la catégorie « Accepté ». N’oubliez pas de soumettre votre demande d’inscription bien avant l’échéance de 17 h (HAE) à la date limite d’inscription indiquée pour le championnat en question. Les inscriptions tardives, incomplètes ou incorrectes ne seront pas acceptées et ne sont pas la responsabilité Golf Canada. Lorsqu’une inscription a été acceptée pour un championnat, les droits d’inscription ne sont pas remboursables. 

  

Veuillez noter que seuls les paiements par carte de crédit seront acceptés par Golf Canada (Visa, MasterCard ou American Express). 

  

  

TABLEAU DE COMPÉTITION 

Le Championnat NextGen du Québec, propulsé par JOURNIE Récompenses, mettra aux prises 156 athlètes. 

  

Les 2/3 des athlètes de chaque division doivent être originaires de la province hôte (ou de la région hôte pour les Championnats NextGen des Prairies et de l’Atlantique). 

  

Si le tableau de compétition compte un trop grand nombre de noms à la date limite des inscriptions, le Comité de sélection de Golf Canada choisira les joueurs non exemptés à inscrire au tableau. Golf Canada se réserve le droit de modifier le nombre de concurrents dans chaque groupe en fonction du nombre d’inscriptions reçues avant la date limite des inscriptions pour chaque tournoi.  

  

  

CRITÈRES D’EXEMPTION

S’ils sont admissibles, les personnes suivantes reçoivent un laissez-passer pour deux (2) Championnats NextGen et un (1) Championnat NextGen de la Série d’automne : 

  

  • [1] Membres de la formation nationale Junior ou Amateur. 
  • [2] Tous les participants et participantes qui franchi les couperets au Championnat canadien junior masculin canadien de 2022 et au Championnat canadien junior féminin de 2022. 
  • [3] Les dix (10) premiers golfeurs et les cinq (5) premières golfeuses au classement de chaque Championnat NextGen en 2022. 
  • [4] Les cinq (5) premiers golfeurs et les cinq (5) premières golfeuses au classement de chaque Championnat NextGen Série d’automne en 2022. 
  • [5] 2022 Junior Skills Challenge - National Event Champions – Boys/Girls 15-18 division.

FORMULE DU CHAMPIONNAT

Le Championnat NextGen du Québec, propulsé par JOURNIE Récompenses, est un championnat de 54 trous qui compte au Classement mondial de golf amateur (WAGR).  

  • Catégorie garçons juniors : Cette compétition se disputera jusqu’à la conclusion du jeu sur 54 trous. 
  • Catégorie filles juniors : Cette compétition se disputera jusqu’à la conclusion du jeu sur 54 trous. 

  

Couperet après 36 trous 

Le tableau de compétition sera réduit à environ 70 participants pour la ronde finale. Le couperet pour les garçons et les filles sera finalisé lorsque le tableau de compétition sera arrêté. Cette mesure ne s’applique qu’aux Championnats NextGen du Pacifique, de l’Ontario et du Québec, pour lesquels le nombre maximal de participants a été porté à 156 athlètes. 

  

Exemptions au championnat national 

  • Les  HUIT (8)  premiers de la catégorie junior masculine au terme du Championnat NextGen du Québec mériteront une exemption pour participer au Championnat canadien junior masculin 2023, disputé du 13 au 17 août au Club de golf North Bay Limité à North Bay, Ontario.
  • Les  HUIT (8)  premières (et égalités) de la catégorie junior féminine au terme du Championnat NextGen du Québec, obtiendront une exemption pour participer au Championnat canadien junior féminin 2023, disputé du 23 au 27 juillet au Hampton Golf Club de Hampton, au Nouveau-Brunswick. 

  

Prolongation 

Toute égalité pour la première place de la division masculine ou féminine, ou pour un laissez-passer dans la division junior masculine, sera rompue par une prolongation trou-par-trou immédiatement après la conclusion du jeu. Veuillez en tenir compte lorsque vous planifierez vos déplacements à la fin de la dernière journée. 

  

  

POLITIQUE DE REMBOURSEMENT ET AVIS DE RETRAIT

Les frais d’inscription seront pleinement remboursés si l’athlète avise Golf Canada (1 800 263-0009, poste 250) de son intention de se retirer de la compétition au moins trois (3) semaines avant le championnat (mardi le 13 juin 2023 à 17 h HE). Dès que l’inscription d’un joueur ou d’une joueuse est acceptée pour le championnat, il est entendu qu’il ou elle y participera.

 

Il est possible d’obtenir le remboursement des frais d’inscription après cette date en raison de maladie ou de blessure, SEULEMENT si le joueur présente un certificat médical. Tout remboursement après la date limite d’inscription est sujet à des frais administratifs de 50 $.

 

Si un ou une athlète désire se retirer avant la compétition, il ou elle devra aviser Golf Canada assez tôt pour qu’un(e) remplaçant(e) puisse jouer à sa place. Toute dérogation à ce règlement peut entraîner sa DISQUALIFICATION de toute future compétition de Golf Canada.
