Nine & Dines
Nine & Dine (Glow in the Dark) – This is an individual stroke play 9-Hole event. There are two closest to the pins at hole 3 and hole 5. Individuals who participate in the Closest to Pin are asked to put $5 in the pot for monetary awards for the two winners. Guests (non-Men’s Club members) are welcome to play. Men can play either white or blue tees. Seniors and Women can play either white or green tees as they desire.
This event is social, and participation points are not awarded for Men's Club members because it is after we play the season ending Oak Hill Cup. The twist in the tournament is that we play it later in the year and start the event at sunset. The goal is to finish with the glow in the dark ball. If the ball is lost, the group can buy balls from the club to replenish its stock and finish. Men's Club members must post a nine-hole score for this tournament.
Nine & Dine Scramble – This is a four-person team event. The scramble format requires each player to hit a drive. The team then picks the best drive, and all players then play from that spot, continuing to play the team's best shot in this format to finish each hole. There is no minimum number of drives requirement for this nine and dine. Team score is the best (lowest) individual gross score on each hole. Teams can follow standard scramble rules.
-
Putts need to be placed within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.
-
You may lift, clean and place your ball within one club length on the selected shot; however, you may not move your ball: 1) out of a hazard (including bunkers), 2) out of the rough, 3) from the fairway or rough to the apron or 4) from the apron to the green.
There are two closest to the pins at hole 3 and hole 5. Individuals who participate in the Closest to Pin are asked to put $5 in the pot for a money award for the two winners. Guests (non-Men’s Club members) are welcome to play. Men can play either white or blue tees. Seniors and Women can play either white or green tees as they desire. This event is social, and participation points are awarded for player of the year consideration. We have a small award prize for the winner of the scramble.
You can sign up as an individual, a twosome or a foursome. We will pair people together to put foursomes together.
Note: Under USGA Rule 2.1a/1 you must NOT submit scores for this tournament type because you have not played your own ball.
Nine and Dine Shamble – This is a four-person team event. The shamble format is like a scramble with a minor twist. Like a scramble, each player hits a drive. The team then picks the best drive, and EACH player plays his or her ball from that spot to finish the hole. There is no minimum number of drives requirement for this nine and dine. Team score is the best (lowest) individual gross score on each hole with no one person score worse than a double bogey. Teams can follow this scramble rules for the drive only:
-
