2023 TOURNAMENT CRITERIA

The Digital Commerce Bank Glencoe Invitational is a 54-hole stroke play golf tournament with male and female divisions – the female division is comprised of professionals and amateurs and the male division is amateur only.  Invitees are selected based on their competitive record in major events and World Amateur Ranking per the below criteria. The Invitational Committee reserves the right to select one Sponsor invitation in each division as well as adjust target field sizes in each division.

 

Should a player receive an invitation from the Tournament Committee in early February, players need to register on-line from The Glencoe Invitational website and approvals will be sent by the Tournament Committee beginning on April 1, 2023.  Entry fees will be processed after April 1, 2023.  The final field (except for Monday qualifiers) will be set by May 1, 2023.

 

MEN’S DIVISION

In the Men’s Division, the field size will be limited to a target of 40 amateur contestants (with a cap of 30% international players). Applicants from the following criteria listed below are given priority consideration:

  • Top 30 Canadians on WAGR (as of January 2023)
  • 2022 Alberta Men’s Amateur Champion
  • 2022 Glencoe Club Men’s Club Champion
  • Canadians in the Top 10 in the 2022 Canadian Men’s Amateur
  • Top 5 finishers at the 2022 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (previous 5 Champions: 17, ’18, ’19, ’21, ‘22)
  • Golf Canada Amateur and NexGen Team members
  • Monday Qualifiers – maximum of two low males. 

 

WOMEN’S DIVISION

In the Women’s Division, there will be both professional and amateurs with a target of 60 competitors respectively (30 amateurs and 30 professionals with a cap of 30% international players). Applicants from the following criteria listed below are given priority consideration:

 

Professional

  • Canadians ranked in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
  • Top 5 finishers at the 2022 Ororo PGA Women’s Championship of Canada at Bromont
  • Active Epson and LPGA Members
  • Canadians playing WAPT, Cactus and East Coast Women’s Pro Golf Tours in 2022/2023 or Stage 1 2022 LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament players
  • 2022 CP Women’s Open Monday qualifiers or exempt players
  • Top 3 finishers at the 2022 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (‘21, ‘22)

Amateur

  • Top 25 Canadians on WAGR (as of January 2023)
  • 2022 Alberta Women's Amateur Champion
  • 2022 Glencoe Club Women's Club Champion
  • Canadians in the Top 10 in the 2021 Canadian Women’s Amateur
  • Top 3 finishers at the 2022 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (‘21, ‘22)
  • Golf Canada Amateur and NexGen Team members
  • Monday Qualifiers – one low female amateur pending number of registrants (minimum 4)

 

ENTRY FEE

  • The Male and Female Amateur entry fee is $375 plus applicable taxes and Stripe fee ($400 total).
  • The Female Professional entry fee is $500 plus applicable taxes and Stripe fee ($535 total).
  • No requests for refunds will be accepted after May 15, 2023 (unless special consideration is granted by the Tournament committee.  Note there is a $75 service fee for processing any withdrawals after May 15th.

 

Can I still qualify if I haven’t received an invitation? 

 

Even if you haven’t received an invitation, players are encouraged to apply using the registration link on the main page which will be open starting the first week of February. The final field will be set by May 1, 2023. There will also be a Monday qualifier on June 12, 2023. 

 

International players (permanent home residence outside Canada) are welcome to apply.  WAGR rank will be primary criteria and approval will be reviewed by the Tournament Committee. 

 

PARTICIPATION INCLUDES

  • Up to 3 competition rounds on The Forest; following 36 holes of stroke play there will be a cut to the low 20 males and ties as well as the low 30 females and ties for final 18 holes
  • One practice round
  • Players package including a first tee gift ($150 value)
  • Opening Awards Banquet invite
  • Food and Beverage ($200 value)

 

THE 2023 CHAMPIONS WILL RECEIVE

Male Champion will receive exemptions to the following:

Final qualifying round for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open

PGA Tour Canada's 2023 ATB Classic in Edmonton, AB June 26 - July 2, 2023, and

2023 Canadian Men’s Amateur.

Top Three Male Amateur Finishers will receive keeper trophies from Mill Creek Studios.

 

The Male Amateur Purse will be $5,000 CDN.

1st place - $1,200 (maximum allowable under Rules of Amateur Status effective Jan. 1, 2022)

2nd place - $1,100

3rd place - $1,000

4th place - $900

5th place - $800

 

Low Female Amateur will receive an exemption into the 2023 Canadian Women's Amateur.

Top Three Female Finishers will receive keeper trophies from Mill Creek Studios.

The Female division are competing for $TBD in total purse consisting of the following:

1st place       $TBD

All female players (amateur or professional) that make the cut will receive a cheque.  The low female amateur that makes the cut will receive the maximum $1,200 CDN (maximum allowable under Rules of Amateur Status effective Jan. 1, 2022).  No prize money will be awarded to female amateurs missing the cut.

Low Female Finisher (Amateur or Professional) will receive an exemption into the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open.
