ENTRY ELIGIBILITY, PROCEDURE & INFORMATION
Entries are open to male amateur golfers who have reached their 19th birthday on or before the first competition round (Tuesday, July 11th). Entrants younger than 19 years old may participate in the Championship if duly invited by the Committee. Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 2.0 or less.
All exempt players are required to register before Wednesday, May 3rd at 5:00 PM Central. Entries will be reviewed in the order they are received by the Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship Selection Committee. Non-exempt applicants are not guaranteed a spot in the Championship field; applicant entries will be reviewed based on playing experience, competitive success, rankings and merit against those of other applicants. Non-exempt applicants are encouraged to submit a playing resume (to Amanda Kolb, Tournament Director, at akolb@trans-miss.org) or other document(s) to substantiate their competitive history. All entrants will be notified if they have been assigned a position in the starting field on or before Friday, June 9th.
EXEMPTIONS
All exempt players who meet the criteria outlined below need to register before Wednesday, May 3rd at 5:00 PM Central. Entries received from exempt players after Wednesday, May 3rd will be processed and reviewed with all other entries, including those of non-exempt applicants.
- Past Champions in the previous five Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championships.
- Top 30 finishers (and ties) in the 118th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship.
- Previous year’s Low Mid-Amateur from the 118th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship.
- Previous year’s Trans-Mississippi Senior & Mid-Master Champions (Senior & Mid-Master Divisions).
- Previous year’s Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Champions (Championship Division).
- Previous year's Top 10 Elite Amateur Golf Series Finishers.
- Current year’s GCSAA National Champion.
- Top 300 in the Scratch Player’s World Amateur Ranking (SPWAR)*.
- Top 500 in the R&A/USGA World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)*.
- Previous five U.S. Amateur Champions.
- Previous year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Quarterfinalists.
- Trans-Mississippi Golf Association/Host Club Selections.
*Rankings are considered as of the date of entry being received to meet exemption criteria.
FORMAT & FIELD SIZE
The Championship will be contested over 72 holes of Individual Stroke Play; the field is limited to 144 competitors and will be reduced to the low 54 competitors (and ties) following the completion of the second round (36 holes).
ON-SITE CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION
All competitors must register with Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff prior to the start of the Championship. Players that do not register may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION. Official tournament registration will be held at Brook Hollow Golf Club on Monday, July 10th from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Competitors who are unable to register on the date and time listed above must contact Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff in advance of the Championship. Those who fail to register and notify the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association of their intent to compete, risk forfeiting their spot in the field.
OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND
Players are limited to one complementary practice round on the designated practice round date, Monday, July 10th at Brook Hollow Golf Club. All confirmed competitors must contact the golf shop at (214) 637-1900 to schedule a practice round for Monday, July 10th. Please be advised that the golf course will close at 6:00 PM for maintenance and the player reception on Monday evening.
PLAYER RECEPTION
Competitors and a guest are invited to attend a reception on Monday, July 10th at Brook Hollow Golf Club. All reception costs, including hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included in the entry fee. The reception will begin at 6:30 PM. Dress code for the reception is, at minimum, golf attire (shorts are permitted, no jeans).
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS
Starting times and pairings for the first and second rounds will be made available no later than Friday, July 7th at 5:00 PM. Copies will also be distributed at registration, in the Trans-Mississippi Tournament Office and in the Golf Shop. Third and fourth round starting times and pairings will be available in the evening preceding play online at www.trans-miss.org. Third and fourth round starting times will be re-drawn, based on total score, following the second and third rounds of play, respectively after the field is cut.
HOST HOTEL(S)
Discounted rates have been established at the following host hotels; players must contact the host hotel directly to make their own reservations. If you need to book dates outside of the tournament dates please call the hotel directly to work on rates.

HOST HOUSING
Private Housing is a courtesy Brook Hollow Golf Club and the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association will make best efforts to provide. Host housing will be available on a limited basis and assigned on a first-come-first-served. Upon tournament registration closing, Host Housing Guidelines will be sent to the players in the field that indicated interest in private housing during the registration process. Housing assignments will be designated as players return a completed Host Housing Guideline sheet. It will be the player’s responsibility to contact their Host Family prior to arrival to discuss arrival and departure times, emergency contact information, etc. Players may not arrive earlier than one day before the scheduled tournament practice round and must depart no later than the morning after the final round, unless prior approval from Amanda Kolb (Tournament Director) and the host family.
TRANSPORTATION & CADDIES
The 119th TMGA Amateur Championship is a walking-only event; players must be prepared to walk at all times during the Championship. Caddies are permitted during the Championship and a limited number of host club caddies may be available; please contact the Golf Shop at (214) 637-1900 for availability and fees. Push/pull carts are permitted; however, players are responsible for supplying their own, as the club has a limited quantity.
CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES
Clubhouse Facilities at will be open daily at 6:30 AM. Player’s will be responsible for breakfast and lunch purchased on the practice round day. Breakfast and lunch are provided for all four days of the Championship and are included with each competitor’s entry fee for the Championship. Caddies and guests may dine with players but will be charged the appropriate cost for the same meal. All other food and beverage consumed will be at the competitor’s expense.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
Practice Facilities will be available to all competitors for the duration of the Championship. The practice facilities will open Monday, July 10th at 7:00 AM and throughout each Championship round, beginning one hour prior to the first tee time. The practice range will close one hour before dusk for maintenance during the tournament rounds and at 6:00 PM on Monday for the Player Reception.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES & CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association's Code of Conduct and Dress Code are in effect throughout the Championship. Violations will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. WITHDRAWAL & NO SHOW POLICY
If you find you cannot compete in the Championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting TMGA Tournament Director, Amanda Kolb, at (469) 458-0806 or email at akolb@trans-miss.org. If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from the 119th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship. Any player withdrawing prior to Wednesday, June 7th at 5:00 PM Central will receive a full refund, less a $25 administrative fee. Any withdrawals after the June 7th deadline, will not receive a refund unless a spot is filled by a competitor on the waitlist.
