Old Fort Men's Golf Association

 

The Old Fort Men's Golf Association is one of the longest running golf groups in the Midstate. The association boasts over 200 members annually that compete in up to 12 tournaments per year.  This amateur association prides itself in providing great competition while always focusing on camaraderie.  Individual events, team events, and events where members are allowed to bring guests keep the OFMGA both fun and competitive.  To sign up, just visit the Old Fort Golf Shop and fill out the membership application.

Cost to Join and Play

 

Yearly OFMGA Membership Fee: $100

Individual Tournament Costs: 
$75 for one day events
$150 for two day events
$25 to enter Match Play

Tournament costs include greens fee, cart, range balls, 
prizes, and food before and after play
*excludes the Match Play tournament

 

 

General Tournament Information and Rules 

 

Signing Up for Events

  • Each OFMGA Member is responsible for calling the Golf Shop to sign up for each event.
  • Members must sign up for each event by Sunday at 5:00 pm prior to the event that week.
  • Members who don’t sign up by the deadline will be put on the waiting list.

 

Event Withdrawal & Cancellations

  • In order to minimize inconveniences, players must notify the Golf Shop 24 hours in advance if they wish to withdraw from an event.

 

USGA Handicaps & Scoring

  • Players not having a USGA Handicap should establish one before playing.
  • Players with no established handicap will compete at a 0 handicap index.  The Tournament Committee will post all event scores for individual stroke play events.

 

Prizes

  • Prizes for all events will be in the form of golf shop credit loaded on your OFMGA membership card and is redeemable in the Golf Shop for merchandise only. 
  • Additonal Prizes will be awarded in our year long Roy Davenport Player Player of the Year Points Race.  Point are awarded based on your finishing positon within your flight.  Team events will award up to 50 points, individual events will award up to 75 points, and the Match Play and Club Championship will award up to 100 points.  The Player of the Year will receive $500 in Golf Shop Credit plus free 2023 OFMGA Membership.  Runner up will receive $250 and 3rd place will receive $100 in golf shop credit.
  • Team events will also have an optional Captain's Pot which will be a cash prize awarded to the top teams.  

 

Tees Played

  • Age 54 & Under Gold Tees (Black Tees for Scratch Divisions in Match Play and Club Championship)
  • Age 55-62 White Tees
  • Age 63-70 Silver Tees
  • Ages 71+ Green Tees

 

The tees listed above are for all events except The Superintendents Revenge and The 18 Hole Par 3 Challenge.  Those events will only utilize two tee boxes.  One for those age 62 and under and another for those age 63 and over due to the nature of the event.
