Spectator Code of Conduct

 

Spectators, regardless of relation to any player, are expected to adhere to the following:

  1. Remain more than 20 yards from players or their golf balls* (see below).
  2. Move about the golf course in a manner that does not unnecessarily slow, delay, distract, or obstruct play or any player.
  3. Do not attempt to give rulings or to help with procedures.
  4. If using a spectator cart, the cart shall remain on the cart paths at all times.
  5. Support play and players at all times.
  6. If requested, assist players as it relates to contacting tournament officials.
  7. If requested, relay messages from tournament administration to players.
  8. Communicate with players only in English.

 

*Spectators & players and spectators & golf balls may be less than 20 yards in the following scenarios:

  1. In a bona fide emergency.
  2. If a player is in communication with the tournament committee via a spectator's cell phone.
  3. If in a ball search, as defined by the USGA Rules of Golf, with a 3 minute clock started.
  4. Exchanging a player's 'extras' such as pullovers, gloves, umbrellas, etc.

In these scenarios, spectators and players shall make no attempt to exclude other players, spectators, or tournament officials to ensure the interaction is otherwise within the Rules and the Code of Conduct. 

 

Spectator Carts

 

  • Spectator carts are available for rent from the Pine Tree Country Club Golf Shop on a first-come-first-served basis for $25 per day. 
  • A player and/or their golf equipment may not ride on a golf cart during a round (exception: when a player is proceeding under a stroke-and-distance penalty).
