Pace of Play
It is expected that you will complete your round in under 4 hours and 15 minutes. You should remain in contact (a shot behind) with the group in front of you at all times. Play ready golf at all times and use tips below to maintain pace.
- PROVISIONAL BALL: If you think that your ball might have landed out of bounds or be lost, hit a provisional ball after declaring so to your playing partner(s).
- EACH MEMBER of a group should proceed directly to their ball.
- PREPARATION: While walking or riding to your ball, use the travel time to begin planning your next shot. When at your ball pick your yardage and club while others are hitting. Be Ready
- WHEN AT YOUR BALL: The USGA recommends limiting practice swings to one. Be ready when it is your turn to hit.
- LEAVE YOUR BAGS OR GOLF CARTS to the side of the green in the direction of the next tee, never in front of the green.
- ON THE GREEN: Begin lining up your putt and reading the break as soon as you reach the green. When it’s your turn to putt, be ready to take the stroke. When finished putting, move to your bag and be ready to move to the next tee. If behind proceed directly to the next tee and hit.
- SCORING - Record scores when you reach the next tee, not on the green.
