About Royal North Devon Golf Club

 

Royal North Devon Golf Club, Devon is an 18 hole, par 72 (6653 yard), private, links golf course designed orginally by Old Tom Morris and updated by Herbert Fowler in 1908/

 

Royal North Devon at Westward Ho! can rightly claim to be the cradle of English Golf. Founded in 1864, it is the oldest golf course in the country and is regarded as the St Andrews of the South. The golf course is as tough as any of the UK’s more famous links layouts and has recently been placed in Golf World 's "Top 100 Courses in the World" that a golfer “must play”.

 

Rules and Information

 

Golf Format

Scramble (4 players) 25% / 20% / 15% / 10% from the lowest to highest handicap, a minimum of 4 drives taken from each player. This score will be deducted front he gross at the end. 

As in any stroke play competition scoring putts must be holed, there is no such thing as a gimme in stroke play competition where you are playing against a field.

Handicap Certificates:

All handicaps will be checked online. Please have a certificate or Golf App available on your phone to show the team.  You may wish to have a certificate on your phone available in case of issues as WHS is not always perfect.

Prizes:

Prizes will be sent out after the event either by email for vouchers or by post.  There will be no prizes handed out on the day or any prize giving.

Golf Carts:

We permit the use of golf carts for medical reasons only.  We accept self certification.  Please arrange directly with the club.
