Are we warm yet?

Always warm up before a round of golf if you want to prevent injuries and want to play your best. A good warm up prepares your body for more intense activity by getting your blood flowing and raising your muscle temperature.

Warm Up Your Body.

Before you play golf, do some simple stretching exercises, focusing on your shoulders, back, and legs. Then add some movement such as jumping jacks to raise your temperature and get a little sweat going.

Warm Up Your Skills.

Once warm, get your body acclimated to golf.  Hit a few golf balls on the driving range, starting with some pitches on your wedges and progressing up the bag to full swings.  If you’re short on time, do less, but try not to rush.  A hurried mindset can ruin your tempo.

Warm Up Your Mind.

Focus On Your Game Plan. Think about the key strategic things that will help you score your best. Perhaps you need a reminder to maintain your pre-shot routine, or to swing with good tempo or you could choose to make getting on the green the priority for every short game shot. By pre-programming these thoughts, you’ll help yourself make better decisions on the course. Focus on what you can control – your process.
