ONE IMPORTANT CORRECTION!!! Page 29. YEAR-END AWARDS.
This sentence is INCORRECT. “Total of 2 lowest gross scores for all holes on all 4 courses”.
A Ringer is the 1 lowest score (not the 2 lowest scores) on each hole across the 4 courses.
Therefore, the sentence should correctly read: Total of lowest gross scores for all holes on all 4 courses. And the paragraph should correctly read:
RINGER COMPETITION (Flighted) - Ringers start with the first designated Ringered Playday and continue through the last designated Ringered Playday. Total of lowest gross scores for all holes on all 4 courses. Awards will be made for low gross in each flight. Winners are not eligible for Low Putts award. Ties will be awarded.
Bunker Reminder
Please always take the time to rake the Bunker after you hit out of them. Bunkers are challenging enough, and no one wants to land in a divot caused by someone not raking. So thank you for raking!
If Bunkers are undergoing work, they can be played as ground under repair.
Rules
Following up after our Rules clinic, Definitions and the Local Rules sheet were emailed to everyone in KWGA and is posted in the newsletter section of Golf Genius.
To find out everything you need to know about the rules of golf, here is link to the USGA Rules page. https://www.usga.org/rules-hub.html
And a basic, but important rule for all of us to abide by is:
Rule 1.2 Standards of Player Conduct a. Conduct Expected of All Players
All players are expected to play in the spirit of the game by:
- Acting with integrity – for example, by following the Rules, applying all penalties, and being honest in all aspects of play.
- Showing consideration to others – for example, by playing at a prompt pace, looking out for the safety of others, and not distracting the play of another player. If a player plays a ball in a direction where there might be a danger of hitting someone, they should immediately shout a warning, such as the traditional warning of “fore”.
- Taking good care of the course – for example, by replacing divots, smoothing bunkers, repairing ball-marks, and not causing unnecessary damage to the course.
And a KWGA Rule to never forget. HAVE FUN!!
