FUN DAY Wed Feb 22 and we learned something too!

It was a field of 34 18 & 9-Hole League players that played in the rain and wind using a Dropout Scramble format and we called it a FUN DAY.

Two of the teams were Winners that will receive $4 gift card credit:

1 Kelly Smith, Diana Aston, Barbara Davis, Susan Polich

2 Carrie Faulkner, Susan Sowyrda, Beth Mengden, Kathleen Labbe

And CTP Pots went to Bette McDermott and Ginger Dieter

We also enjoyed a Soup and Salad lunch and camaraderie in the Cypress room.

Then Dick Smith used slides, videos, and discussion to present the USGA Rules Clinic covering various important topics. Information from the clinic will be sent out soon.

We also had an informal discussion of Etiquette for all of us to be mindful of, such as:

Be quiet while your fellow players are hitting their ball.

Do not stand in your fellow putter’s line of sight - to their front and their rear.

The 3- minute rule for a lost ball begins when you start looking for your ball. Your fellow players should hit their balls for ready golf and then come help you find your ball.

Do not hit the ball until you are certain that the group ahead of you is out of range.

Be prepared to hit your shot when it is your turn.

When walking from your cart to your ball, take a couple clubs with you. What you think you will need, and one up and one down. And bring an extra ball, so you don’t have to walk back to your cart to retrieve another ball or a different club.

Always leave the putting green as soon as your group has finished putting.

After your round, if riding back through the golf course, be considerate of groups that are playing on the course. Be quiet and wait until they have hit to drive past them.
