About Eden Golf Club
Having opened in 1991, Eden Golf Course has matured incredibly well and is now regarded as one of the finest clubs in the area. The tree-lined fairways wind through the beautiful Cumbria woodland and feature some stunning views over the Lake District and Pennine fells. The views can also be seen when enjoying a post round drink with a clubhouse that boasts open fires and fine cuisine. Water features quite heavily on this course with several of the holes requiring good positional shots to avoid getting your ball wet. One hole that is particularly memorable is the short but tough par 4 eleventh. Players can reach the green with a good drive, but anything wayward is likely to end up being punished with a dropped shot. The River Eden adds a unique element to the course and comes into play on the fourth and fifth hole, slicers should beware that anything to the right is likely to be caught out.
About Windermere Golf Club
Windermere Golf Club is located in the heart of the Lake District and is a perfect setting for wonderful day’s golf. From the golf course itself, golfers can expect views over Windermere and its surrounding fells. The golf club proudly claims that their breathtaking scenery matches any golf course in the UK and Windermere has been described as a ‘mini Gleneagles’. Despite not being the longest of courses at 5,151 yards, the golf course has numerous elevated and uphill tight tee shots offering golfers a different challenge. With all the attractions and beauty surrounding Windermere, golfers simply must pay a visit to this golfing gem in Cumbria.
Rules and Information
Golf Format:
The event is played as a four-ball better ball format off 85% of your official handicap using stableford scoring under the rules of golf, and following WHS guidance.
As in any stroke play competition scoring putts must be holed, there is no such thing as a gimme in stroke play competition where you are playing against a field.
Handicap Certificates:
All handicaps will be checked online. Please have a certificate or Golf App available on your phone to show the team. You may wish to have a certificate on your phone available in case of issues as WHS is not always perfect.
Prizes:
Prizes will be sent out after the event either by email for vouchers or by post. There will be no prizes handed out on the day or any prize giving.
Golf Carts:
We permit the use of golf carts for medical reasons only. We accept self certification. Please arrange directly with the club.
