2023 Winter Dome Floating League

Information and Procedures

 

Schedule

  1. The winter league will be 12 weeks/rounds long (January 9th – April 2nd)
  2. You have from Monday – Sunday to complete your weekly round in order to be eligible for weekly prizes. Sunday is a hard cut-off each week, if you miss a week, you will not be able to make it up. Prizes are given out weekly, there will be no season-long prizes.
  3. Week 1 will be used to establish your “dome handicap” (see below), prize payouts for week 1 will be selected randomly.
  4. You can play ahead as many weeks as you like. A course schedule will be provided during the first week of play that lists the courses and tees to be played each week.
  5. You and your partner do not need to play together.

Scoring

  1. Live scoring through Golf Genius (our tournament management software) will be used to electronically enter your scores. Instructions to download the Golf Genius app and enter your scores will be sent out before the first week of league play, printed instructions will also be available at the front desk.
  2. Each round, your team will have a unique 6 letter GGID code that you will enter in the Golf Genius app.
  3. The format is 2-person best ball. You and your partner each play your own ball and record hole by hole GROSS scores for both you and your partner.
  4. GGID codes will be emailed to the league at the start of each week. GGID codes for all 12 weeks will also be emailed to the league during the first week of league play for those that want to play ahead.

 

Handicapping

 

  1. We are implementing a weekly rolling “dome handicap” for the winter league.
  2. A dome handicap will be established for every golfer after week 1, which will then be effective for week After week 2, we will combine your week 1 and 2 scores to update your dome handicap, which will then be effective for week 3. This updating will continue for all 12 weeks.
  3. 80% of your “dome handicap” will be used.

Flights/Divisions

  1. The number and size of the flights in the league are dependent on the number of golfers registered for the league. Flights will be finalized after registration has concluded.
  2. Our intention is to have a mixed flight, a women’s flight, and several men’s flights.
  3. As handicaps will be updated weekly, teams will be re-flighted periodically.

 

 

Entry Fee

  1. Your entry fee goes into the prize fund. Your entry fee does not include bay rental fees for playing your weekly rounds and does not entitle you to discounts on bay rental fees.

Dome Information

  1. Visit https://braemargolf.com/golf-dome/ for dome pricing, hours, specials, and dome players club information.
  2. Allow for about 1.5 hours to play your 18-hole round if you and your partner are playing together in the same hitting bay. This can be shorter or longer depending on the skill level of your team.
  3. We have a few bays reservable online by visiting https://braemargolf.com/golf-dome/ and clicking on “Bay Reservations.” You can also stop in when you’re ready to play and you’ll receive a hitting bay on a first-come, first-served basis.

Prizes

  1. Top weekly finishers in each flight will receive a prize payout in the form of a Braemar E-Gift Card that will be attached directly into your profile in our point-of-sale system, there will be no physical gift cards given out.
  2. Week 1 will be used to establish your dome handicap, prize payouts for week 1 will be selected randomly.
  3. E-Gift cards can be used for anything at the Braemar Golf Dome or Course, including golf dome time, rounds of golf outside, merchandise, etc.
  4. Prize payouts are only on weekly results, there are no season-long prizes.

Tiebreakers

  1. All ties will be broken with the USGA 9,6,3,1 method. In the event of a tie, the system looks at the last 9 holes, then the last 6 holes, etc. until the tie is broken.
