Gold Creek Golf Club – Additional Local Rules

 

(To be read in conjunction with the GA and JNJG Local Rules and Condition of Competition Sheet and the Rules of Golf as adopted by the R&A)

 

Any Local Rules displayed on the clubs’ local rules board or as printed on the clubs scorecard are to be disregarded for this event.

 

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)
    1. Beyond the inside points, at ground level, of the perimeter fence that defines the course boundary.
      Note: there is no free relief for any part of a concrete base of a perimeter fence post whether on the course or not.
    2. Beyond the inside points, at ground level, of any line of white stakes with black tops
  2. PENALTY AREA – LEFT HAND SIDE OF 17TH HOLE (Rule 17)
    1. If a ball is in, or if a ball that has not been found is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in this penalty area, the player may: 
      1. take penalty relief under Rule 17 (if the point of entry is able to be determined)
        or
      2. (if the point of entry is not able to be determined), the player MUST take penalty relief from the Drop Zone.
  3. PENALTY AREA – NO PLAY ZONE – LEFT HAND SIDE OF 1ST HOLE (Rule 17)
    1. The staked area to the left of the cart path on the first fairway and green (designated by green stakes) is to be treated as a NO PLAY ZONE – Red Penalty Area.
    2. Play from this area is prohibited and penalty relief MUST be taken. Players are to proceed under rule 17.
  4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)
    1. All cart paths
    2. The internal fence on the left-hand side of the 5th green, and on the right of 9 fairway
  5. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION (Rule 16)
    1. Areas encircled by white paint, marked as dots, broken lines, unbroken lines or white pavers and / or Ground Under Repair signage
    2. Clearly defined wheel ruts in the General Area made by course maintenance machinery
    3. Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by the movement of water resulting in deep furrows through the sand.
    4. Areas of bare earth on parts of the General Area cut to fairway height or less, not including divots
  6. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION – NO PLAY ZONE (Rule 16.1f)
    1. Garden beds: all garden beds are no play zones and relief MUST be taken under Rule 16.1f. 
      Note - This includes garden beds along the course perimeter.
      Note - In accordance with rule 1f.2 this includes instances where the no play zone interferes with the players stance or swing.
    2. Trees and shrubs: all staked trees and shrubs are no play zones and relief MUST be taken under Rule 16.1f.
  7. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (RULE 16)
    1. Areas marked by white lines or white stakes
    2. Bunkers that are staked
    3. On Holes 3, 6 and 10 ONLY, bare patches on Fairways as a result of recent flooding are to be treated as G.U.R and a player is entitled to take relief.
  8. TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES – PREFERRED LIES – Hole 14 ONLY
    1. 30cm preferred lie on the newly laid turf on both the left hand side and right hand side of the 14th green.

 

UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE IS THE GENERAL PENALTY:

Stroke Play - Two Strokes  |  Match Play - Loss of Hole

Gold Creek Golf Club – Tournament Information

 

  1. Scorecard Return and Tournament Office
    1. A player’s scorecard is deemed officially returned to the Tournament Committee when the player has left the tournament office. Once the player has left the tournament office, no changes may be made to the scorecard.
    2. Players MUST move straight from the 18th green to the tournament office to complete and sign their scorecards.
  2. On Course Enquiries
    1. Players may call the following numbers and either a rules official or member of the Tournament Committee will attend if possible:

    2. In the case of a player being unable to gain assistance from one of the numbers above, the player may proceed in accordance with the procedure outlined in Rule 20.1c(3) of the Rules of Golf and nominate to play a second ball. The player must report the facts of the situation to the Committee before returning the scorecard, even if the player scores the same with both balls.
  3. Parents, Spectators and Bag Pusher Guidelines
    1. There are no caddies allowed at any JNJG Tour Event.
    2. Parents and Spectators (especially when driving a golf cart) MUST always stay on the Cart Path.

  4. Course Information
    1. Pin Positions / Yardage Books
      1. All players will be handed a pin position map on day one.
      2. This will have locations for all four days.
      3. Players will also receive a yardage book at registration on day one.
    2. Distance Markers (all to centre of green)
    3. Tee Markers
      1. White JNJG Tee Markers – all BOYS divisions
      2. Red JNJG Tee Markers – all GIRLS divisions

 

Make sure you keep up with the group in front, carry and use a sand bucket to replace divots, and fix all pitch marks on the greens. Let’s leave the course in the same condition as when we arrived!!
