Eligibility: All entrants must be members of the UGA and must have USGA Index of 9.9 or lower as of May 11, 2018. If you are a senior trying to qualify for the State Amateur, you cannot play in both the Senior and Regular State Amateur qualifiers at Hill AFB. You may olny attempt to qualify at Hill AFB for one of the two events and you will need to qualify somewhere else for the other.

Entry deadline: All entries must be received at the UGA office no later than 4:00 pm on May 11

 

Entry fee: $80 for the qualifying round. All successful qualifiers must pay an additional $135 to advance to the finals. Exempt players must pay the full championship fee of $215. 

 

Qualifying Site Assignments: Players may compete at one (1) of the regional qualifiers of their choice; registration is on a first come first serve basis.   Please note that all qualifying sites are limited to the first 84 players, if a player’s desired site is full he may choose to be placed on the waitlist (determined in registration date order) or he may register for another site on a space available basis. Players will not be placed on a waitlist if they are currently active in another qualifying field.  

 

Last Chance Qualifier:  Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. on June 1.  This qualifier is open to members of the Utah Golf Association who meet the eligibility requirements. Members who participated in one (1) regional qualifier or those members who missed the original deadline of May 11 are eligible to register for this event.  

 

Qualifying: If you qualify for the championship proper, your form of payment will be automatically charged the following day for the remaining of the balance for the championship and you will be automatically entered into the event. 

 

All participants must adhere to the dress and conduct regulations. Golf shirts (including dressy mock turtle shirts) must be worn at all sites. Shorts are permitted.  No tank tops, t-shirts, denim or Levis will be permitted. Sandal style golf shoes are not permitted.  Proper respect of club facilities and proper conduct on the golf course is required. The committee has the right to determine conformity. The penalty for failure to conform is Dress and conduct:

  If a player withdrawals prior to the registration deadline the player will receive a refund minus a $20 cancellation fee.  After the deadline, the player will receive a 50% refund.  No refunds will be issued if a player withdraws/no-shows on the day of the event. A business day starts at 12:01 am of that day.   In team competitions, if a player needs a substitute for his original partner after the field has closed; he must arrange to get the substitute. Any substitute must meet all eligibility requirements of the specified competition. The UGA must be notified of any substitutions prior to the start of the tournament.Refunds and withdrawals:disqualification.

Caddies and Carts: Caddies are permitted. Caddies may wear appropriate shorts but must wear a collared shirt. Carts are permitted for contestants through local qualifying, championship stroke-play qualifying, round of 64 matches, round of 32 matches and round of 16 matches.  *Contestants and caddies reaching the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals will be required to walk.

Pairings: The UGA will not take any tee time requests. Pairings will be made by the committee.  Each player is responsible to know his tee time. Tee times will be posted on www.uga.org one week ahead of qualifying date or by calling the UGA office at (801) 563-0400.

Qualifying: A total of 288 players will advance to the finals. The number of qualifying spots at each site will be determined by percentage. There will be playoffs immediately following play at each site to determine the final qualifying spots and alternates for the Championship.  Players must be present, ties will not be taken.*

Spikeless shoes: Metal spiked shoes are not permitted if prohibited by the host course.
