WELCOME TO THE VICTORIAN PGA AMATEUR CHALLENGE
The 2024 Victorian PGA Championship will be played in a Pro-Am format similar to world famous events such as the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the PGA Tour or the Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour, amateurs will be playing for the Victorian Amateur Challenge.
The Tournament will be played across both of the championship golf courses at Moonah Links Resort from 5 - 8 December 2024.
The Professional Championship shall be decided over 4 rounds (72 holes) stroke play. 92 players will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 50 professionals plus ties for 50th place, shall qualify to play rounds 3 and 4. In the event of a tie for first place, a 'sudden death' play off will take place until there is a result.
The Amateur Challenge will see amateurs paired with a professional to form a team for the first 2 rounds with groups consisting of two professionals and two amateurs. The pro/amateur team will be competing in a separate 4BBB competition. There will be a team competition cut to the leading 25 teams following the completion of Round 2. A further cut will be made after Round 3 to the top eight teams playing the final round.
Imagine qualifying for that final round and making your way down the 18th fairway in the final group in contention to win the Victorian Amateur Challenge while your partner is vying for the Professional title of the Victorian PGA Championship.
