PARKING: Players must park in the North parking lot. If arriving separately, caddies and spectators must park in the grass lot further east on Maple Rd., adjacent to Hole #9 fairway. We strongly encourage players to carpool with their caddies and spectators.

PRACTICE ROUND:  The North Course fee is $100 for practice round and this will include cart. Cash, Check, or club to club charge permitted. Oakland Hills does not accept credit or debit card for golf. Tee times can be booked by calling 248.819.1943 or by e-mailing bbyerlein@oakland-hills.com. Players must identify themselves as U.S. Amateur Qualifier Contestants. 
 
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In Sectional qualifying, and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

FOOD:  The snack shop on the North Course will have food available for purchase. THE ONLY ACCEPTED METHODS OF PAYMENT AT THE SNACK SHOP ARE CASH AND SIGNING BACK TO YOUR HOME CLUB.

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Carts are not permitted for caddies. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are not permitted at USGA Qualifiers.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Open one hour before first tee time. 

NON-METAL SPIKE POLICY: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with either traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or, regardless of design, spikes comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, please contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 leading up to the tournament. If you must withdraw the night or weekend before then please contact the GAM office at tournaments@gam.org or (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future USGA and GAM competitions.
