Welcome to the 2022 Interclub Qualifying - June 4th

Qualifying

1) Club Qualifier Event Format
Each team will be comprised of six players: four qualifying players, the Club captain and the director of operations. Each team will also require alternates in case of absences by qualified players.

Tuesday, May 24th - Women Only - Sign up at day of registration

Thursday, May 26th - Men Only - Sign up at day of registration

Tuesday, May 31st - Women Only - Sign up at day of registration

Thursday, June 2nd - Men Only - Sign up at day of registration

Saturday, June 4th - Men and Women - Sign up through golf genius

 

Qualifying Format: The format is an individual Stableford Points (see points below) using 80 per cent of handicap.  You can qualify from the Blue, Blue/White or White tees.  If you are over 55 and qualify, you can play the forward tees for the Cluster Events.  All other qualifiers will play for the standard tee at approximately 6,500 yards.

 

- The top net participant will be chosen at each of the three club qualifiers
- The top gross participant will be choosen based on the best 2 gross total scores over the 3 qualifying days

 

Tees
A forward senior tee (White Tee) may be used according to the yardage outlined in the cluster play-down format below. As in past years participants choosing to move to a forward senior tee must be 55 years of age or older at the time of the club qualifier. This option is only available for net qualifying attempts.
 

Cost: $25 for the first attempt, $10 for any additional attempts
 

2) Cluster Play-Down Event Format
Your team will compete in two cluster play-downs which will seed teams into either the Unilock Finals or WestJet Championship (See schedule below). Two clubs in each cluster will host each year. Host locations in each cluster will be made by random selection in year one (2020). Event dates will be chosen for each host club by the DOO’s. Cluster events can be played at any time and can be associated with other Club Member events if you choose. No food and beverage is to be included for either cluster play-down.


Golf professionals will be play with a handicap this year. Please only allow golf professionals with an active Golf Canada to participate.


After the final event the top team from each cluster will be seeded into the WestJet Championship. The remaining teams will play in the Unilock

 

Below are the assigned clusters (2022). This year they have been chosen by a combination of geographic convenience and past performance in the event.

Format of play: The format for the event is two-person net better ball using 80 per cent of handicap. Each team has three pairs of players (playing partners determined by DOO and players). The aggregate of the team better-ball point scores (see table below) shall be the team score for the day. This format will be used for the cluster play-down, WestJet Championship, and Michelob Ultra Finals.

Following completion of play, submit scoring and depart. Leaderboard will be updated online.


DOO’s should pick a tournament tee measuring approximately 6500 yards and a senior tee measuring approximately 6000 yards. Senior tee players in the Cluster Play-down must have qualified from the senior tees at their club qualifier.

If after the second cluster-playdown two or more teams are tied the remaining overall winner will be determined by the team with the highest stableford pair of the second round. If the tie still remains then go to the second highest pair, and so on…
Should we be permitted to do so the top team from each cluster will participate in the WestJet Championship based out of the Sherwood Inn held on September 8 - 10, and the remainder will play in the Unilock Final at Rocky Crest on September 20/21. If we are not permitted to hold the finals in Muskoka an alternate format will be determined.
