CONTESTANT INFORMATION SHEET

 

Listed below is IMPORTANT tournament information.  Please read carefully.

FORMAT:  36 holes stroke play.  At the time of this email, the USGA has not announced the number of qualifiers who will advance to the United States Open Championship at The Country Club, Brookline, Mass., June 16-19, 2022.  The official number of qualifying spots will be given to players at the first tee on the morning of qualifying.  There will be a play-off immediately following play to determine the last qualifying spot and/or two alternates, if necessary.  If 36 holes and or a playoff cannot be completed, play will resume on Tuesday morning, June 7th.

 

REGISTRATION: Players and alternates must register with NCGA/USGA staff upon arrival on Monday morning. The registration table will be located at the driving range. 

 

ALTERNATES: Alternates may “stand by” to see if a local qualifier withdraws or no shows. Locally exempt players who withdraw or no show are not replaced and all alternates will be emailed more information on that policy change for 2022. Alternate registration will be located at the driving range and alternates should check in there immediately upon arrival.

 

RULES OF PLAY:  The Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the 2022 USGA Rules Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the terms of the competition.  The “One Ball Rule” is in effect.

  • The Model Local Rules limiting the Driver Length to 46” (MLR G-10) and further restrictions on green-reading materials (MLR G-11) are not in effect for Final Qualifying. However, the normal restrictions on size and scale of green-reading materials in the 2019 Rules of Golf are in effect.

 

  • Distance Measuring Devices are permitted, provided they are used to measure distance only (consistent with all other USGA qualifying).

 

  • Push Carts: Electric push/pull carts are permitted, but the player may not ride or sit on them while they are moving at any time. Push carts may be rented from the Pro Shop for $7.

 

10th TEE SHUTTLE:  Please be aware that players assigned to start on the 10th tee must plan accordingly as the 10th tee is a substantial distance from the golf shop/range area.  A shuttle car will be available to the 10th tee and will pick up players in front of the FLAG POLE. When players finish on the 9th green the shuttle will bring players back to the clubhouse and parking lot after scoring.  However, please give yourself ample time to get to the 10th tee. First pick-up is at 6:30 AM.

 

CELL PHONE POLICY:  Use of cell phones on the golf course are prohibited. Cell phone use is permitted in the parking lot only.

 

CADDIES:  Limited numbers of caddies are available. To reserve an Olympic Club caddie please contact Joe Hurn by email jhurn@olyclub.com . If prior arrangements are not made, do not expect caddies to be available on site. $300 plus tip.

 

 

SPECTATORS:

  •  Please remain on or near cart paths wherever possible.
  • Please stay at least 10 paces away from putting greens.
  • Do not talk to players during the round.  Any conversation could be viewed as advice.
  • Make sure cell phones are on SILENT. Use of cell phones is limited to the parking lot.
  • Pictures are permitted; however, do not take pictures during a player’s stroke or routine. Make sure your flash is turned off.
  • Keep up with the players you are following.  Do not follow behind players in the fairway as you could be preventing groups from playing. 

 

DRESS CODE:  PLAYERS, CADDIES and SPECTATORS must be properly attired both on the golf course and premises of the club. Blue jeans, designer jeans, T-shirts and tank tops are prohibited. Golf shirts must be worn and shorts, if worn, must be no more than 3 inches above the knee (no jean shorts OR cargo shorts). DRESS CODE IS THE SAME FOR MEN AND WOMEN. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS - THE OLYMPIC CLUB:  Call the Golf Shop at the number above.  Green Fees:  One round – complimentary (no guests). Golf carts available for the practice rounds only - $23 – Push Carts $7.  Locals should try and schedule a practice round earlier in the week to give an opportunity to those traveling outside the area to use the times on the weekend.

Available Dates:  Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5 – Between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES FOR PRACTICE ROUNDS: NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL 12:30 PM EACH AVAILABLE DAY.

 

LOCKER ROOM:  Not available.

 

PRO SHOP & RANGE:  Open from 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The Pro Shop at The Olympic Club accepts CREDIT CARD ONLY.

 

FOOD SERVICE:  The Snack Bar at the driving range will be open 6:30 AM-2:00 PM. The Snack Bar at Hole #9 will be open 8:00-5:00. CASH ONLY.
