Conditions of Competition for League Qualifier Events

 

Format of Play
 

All players shall enter and play as a team of two players. The format of play is Stableford and all players shall play off a handicap that is equal to three fourths of their current handicap at their home club. Stableford points of both players on each hole shall be added to reach the team Stableford score.
 

The winner of each qualifying tournament shall be the team with the highest total Stableford Points.

Stableford points are given as below

  • Double Bogey – 0 points
  • Bogey – 1 point
  • Par – 2 points
  • Birdie – 3 points
  • Eagle – 4 points
  • Albatross – 5 points

The winning team from each qualifying event shall qualify to play in the Ballantine’s Golf Championship – National Final 2022.

 

Handicap Eligibility
 

Participants must have a valid handicap at the host golf club. Maximum Handicap allowance for Men is 24 and Women is 36. Participants who do not have a valid handicap at the host club but have a handicap at a different club will be allocated a handicap by the Tournament Committee and shall play of this handicap. If a participant’s handicap cannot be validated by the Tournament Committee, the participant shall not be eligible for overall prizes and shall play only for the spot prizes. Incorrect handicap declaration may lead to disqualification.
 

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change the handicap of a player on the basis of scores in other tournaments played by the player.
 

Rules and Regulations

  1. All Local Rules will be as per the local governing body of each host golf club.
  2. All players must be amateur golfers.
  3. The tournament is only open to players above the age of 21 years as on the date of the event.
  4. Men will tee off from Blue Tee markers.
  5. Ladies will tee off from Red Tee markers.
  6. No player is eligible to win more than one prize in each tournament. In case a player is winning more than one prize, the Tournament Committee shall decide which prize is to be given to the player and which prize shall be carried forward to the next eligible player.

 

Qualifying for National Final
 

The winning team from each qualifying tournament will qualify for the Ballantine’s Golf Championship National Final. If a qualifying team / player is unable to take part in the National Final, the player(s) must inform Golfing Icons LLP, the Event Management company, within one week of the relevant qualifying tournament. The next best scoring team in the qualifying tournament will then be promoted into a place in the National Final.

 

Scorecard Collection and Scoring Area
 

Scorecards must be submitted in the designated scoring area upon the completion of each round.

Any scorecard that is submitted more than 10 minutes after the completion of each round will not be accepted and the player will be disqualified.

A scorecard is deemed submitted once the player has left the designated scoring area.
A scorecard will be considered valid only if it has the player’s and marker’s signature.

 

Ties
 

In the event that any of the qualifying tournaments or the National Final end in a tie, the winner shall be decided on a count back (Team Stableford Points) of the last 9, 6, 3, 2 and 1 holes.
If the result is still undecided, the winner shall be decided by the drawing of lots.
