MGA TEE BOX POLICY
FOR ALL MGA EVENTS, other than the Thursday Night Scramble, Super Scramble and The Silver Cup:
- The player will play from their Default Tee Box based on their profile in the GHIN System
- Your Default Tees in GHIN are to be the tees you regularly play. Please check with the Pro Shop to make sure your Default Tees are set up properly in the GHIN System based on the tees you regularly play.
- For MGA Tournaments, if a player plays a variety of tee boxes, then the last 20 slopes will be averaged and that player will be assigned to play from the tee box that has the closest slope rating.
- Under the World Handicap System, a player’s Course Handicap (which is based on their Index & Default Tee’s) will automatically adjust for tournament play so that players playing from the higher rated tees will receive additional strokes. The Mobile GHIN App applies the appropriate strokes for play from higher rated tees in accordance with Rule 6 (Course Handicap & Playing Handicap Calculation) of the Handicap Manual.
THURSDAY NIGHT SCRAMBLE & SUPER SCRAMBLE
For the Thursday Night Scramble and Super Scramble, which are random draws to help level the Teams, you play tee boxes based on Age and Index. You do not play your normal Default Tees.
- Under 50 play from the Medal Tees (Blue Tees)
- Under 50 & 18+ Index play from 3-Up Tees (Combined Blue-White Tees)
- Over 50 play from the Tradition Tees (Combination Blue-White Tees)
- Over 60 play from the Club Tees (White Tees)
- Over 70 & +18 Index play from Trophy Tees (Combined Red – White Tees)
- Over 80 & +18 Index play from the Forward Tees (Red Tees)
THE SILVER CUP
- For each match, players will be assigned Tee Boxes by their Team Captains and will play from the same Tee Box during that match.
Captains have the option to assign players to any Tee Box, as long as those players regularly play those tees, and both the players and captains agree to that Tee Box assignment. This allows Captains to have competitors playing from any PCC Tee Box.
