PLAYER REGISTRATION
Player registration is available Sunday afternoon starting at 3:00 pm and Monday morning at 6:00 am. If you need to withdraw, please call or email Donnie Wagner (donnie@collegiategolf.com) so he can call the next alternate.
FORMAT & TEE TIMES
This is a 54-hole stroke play competition. 18 holes will be played each day. There are two golf courses at Carolina Trace CC and rounds one and two (Monday and Tuesday) will be played on the Lakes Course (Monday) and the Creek Course (Tuesday). The final round (Wednesday) will be played on the Lakes Course. Both the first and tenth tees will be utilized with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day. You will receive your first and second round tee times via email and will also be on Golf Genius. Final day pairings will be based on previous days scores with leaders going off last.
PRACTICE ROUND
Practice rounds can be arranged through the Pro Shop beginning two weeks prior to the competition. Please contact the golf shop to indicate your participation. Players are responsible for payment of the practice round at a rate determined by Carolina Trace Country Club and the GCAA.
TEES TO PLAY & PAR
Participants will play the John T. Reis Foundation tees.
STRACKALINE
StrackaLine is the “Official Yardage and Greens Book” of the GCAA Summer Series. All participants of the GCAA Summer Series will be able to purchase books and digital books through StrackaLine at a discounted rate.
WATER
Water is being provided in coolers on the course during the competition.
CADDIES
Caddies will be allowed during the competition. If your caddy wishes to play alongside you during the practice round, they will have to pay full rates of the club.
PUSH CARTS
Push carts will be allowed during play.
RANGE FINDERS
GCAA allows the usage of distance-measuring devices in all GCAA competitions. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or MEASURE OTHER CONDITIONS that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3 (1).
ONE BALL RULE
The one ball rule is in effect.
GOLF CARTS & EVALUATION
In the event of inclement weather, a horn/siren will signal the suspension of play. Please follow the evacuation plan as provided to the nearest shelter. Please be mindful of social distancing and wait for email/text messages to let you know when it is all clear.
SUSPENSION OF PLAY
A suspension for a dangerous situation (i.e.: lightning or tornado) will be signaled by one long siren or horn blast. Players shall discontinue play immediately and seek shelter. All other suspensions shall be signaled by three shorts blasts. All practice areas shall be closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the committee has declared them open for use.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
The range & practice putting green will be open for use starting at 6:00 a.m. on days of competition. There is no charge for practice balls throughout the tournament for warm up prior to and after each day of competition.
PACE OF PLAY
The Summer Series Rules Committee has set a generous pace of four hours and thirty-two minutes (4 hours and 32 minutes) for each round of competition. Play ready golf and keep up with the group in front of you.
WITHDRAWAL / ALTERNATES
Please call or email Donnie Wagner (donnie@collegiategolf.com) if you must withdraw before the competition so he can contact the next alternate to participate.

REFUND POLICY
Prior to May 8th: Full refund minus $25 administrative fee
May 9th - May 22nd: a 50% refund will be provided
After May 22nd: no refund
SCORING / SCORECARDS
Players are required to bring a fully charged mobile phone or device that supports the Golf Genius website (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during GCAA events. Instructions on how to use the software will be sent to all players prior to the competition. Players will be provided your own player log in at registration and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own mobile device, as well as ensuring that it is fully charged. Please bring your fully charged backup charger. All player information will be provided electronically on Golf Genius for your ease of access.
MEDALIST AWARD CEREMONY
There will be a quick awards presentation and picture for the medalist immediately following the close of the competition by the clubhouse or on the 18th green.
PLAY OFF PROCEDURE
There will be a hole-by-hole playoff if there is a tie for the medalist. If a hole-by-hole playoff is not feasible due to inclement weather, the medalist will be decided by a scorecard play-off of the total score of the last nine holes (Holes 10-18). If the players have the same score for the last nine holes, the medalist will be determined, based on the last six (Holes 13-18), last three (Holes 16-18), and finally last hole (18th)
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Players must be neat with respect to personal grooming and clothing. Players may not wear cargo or denim shorts. No jeans will be allowed during competition. Men are to wear collar or designer mock shirts. Please keep in mind, we are guests at each facility.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Any conduct unbecoming a golfer shall be subject to one warning by an official then immediate disqualification at any time thereafter. Such conduct shall include abusive language, club throwing, profanity, showing disrespect to volunteers, officials, or staff, littering, or leaving trash on the course, or abuse of the golf course/facilities. Players must be willing to comply with respect to dress code and social distancing.
PARENTS / SPECTATORS
Spectators will be allowed during the event.
SPECTATOR GOLF CARTS
Spectator carts will be permitted if you have a handicap/condition that requires a cart. Normal fees will be charged by the course. Please call or email Donnie Wagner prior to the tournament.
HEALTH & SAFETY PLANS
The GCAA’s 2022 health and safety plans are developed below using recommendations from global health partners and working in conjunction with the Back2Golf plan, an industry-wide collaboration of the PGA TOUR, PGA of America, USGA, LPGA, IAGA and allied golf associations.
In addition, the GCAA will work with local government officials to ensure community guidelines are met. At a minimum of two weeks prior to the event, local governing officials will be asked to sign off on the GCAA’s safety plans and approve an event can be conducted in the local community.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
Players can arrive one hour before your tee time.
Driving range stalls are spaced per social distancing requirements.
Range balls are set out without bags and baskets.
STARTING EVENTS
No paperwork is physically distributed, but all is available through the Golf Genius mobile scoring platform.
All players participate in digital scoring with mobile devices – no physical scorecards.
DURING COMPETITION
Essential number of Summer Series Rules Officials will monitor pace of play and provide rulings on the course.
SCORING
There will be a scoring table located around the clubhouse and a precise location will be given at registration. Players will be asked to social distance to review their scores at the completion of their final hole. Players will attest their scores and submit prior to leaving their final hole.
GCAA officials can confirm hole-by-hole scores and totals, as well as helping with marker and player disputes if they do not agree with their scores, near the clubhouse.
