The Gents Links Championship

 

The Gents Links Championship is Carnoustie Golf Links’ most prestigious men's tournament for season ticket holders. Open to amateur men season ticket holders with a handicap index of 10.4 or less, the championship comprises of a 36-hole Stroke Play qualifying competition, followed by a Match Play knockout competition contested by the leading 16 scratch qualifying scores. This year, the two qualifying rounds are being held on Saturday 14th and Saturday 21st May, with both rounds scheduled to be played over The Carnoustie Championship Course. The Match Play competition will also be played over The Carnoustie Championship Course and the dates of play are as follows:

 

1st Round - Friday 27th May - From 5.15pm
Quarter Finals -  Monday 30th May - From 5.30pm
Semi Finals - Wednesday 1st June - From 5.30pm
Final - Saturday 4th June - 1.50pm

 

The Ben Hogan Trophy

 

The Ben Hogan Trophy is contested by the leading 24 scratch scores from the Gents Links Championship 36-Hole qualifying competition. It is a special round as it is the only time during the year where season ticket holders can play competitively from The Open Championship Tees and challenge themselves against Golf’s Greatest Test. The winner of the Ben Hogan Trophy is the player with the lowest 3-round aggregate total (Hogan Round + 36-Hole Links Qualifying Total). This year, the competition will take place on 25th May with tee times from 5.15pm.

 

Entry* for The 2022 Gents Links Championship and Ben Hogan Trophy will open on 1st April 2022 and will close on 7th May 2022. Tee times for the qualifying rounds will run from 6.30am-12.22pm and competitors will be able to indicate their preferred tee-time play window upon entry. Entries can be made by clicking the registration tab and will require your Scottish Golf CDH number. *A total of 60 places are available in the starting field for the Links Championship Qualifying. If the entry exceeds 60 players, the field will be decided via a handicap ballot.
