MONDAY EVENING LADIES’ LEAGUE (9 Holes)

Welcome back to all returning players and welcome aboard to those who may be new to our League this year. As the COVID 19 landscape continues to shift, we will be sure to provide a comfortable environment and experience that adheres to safety protocols mandated by the Valley Ridge Golf Club or the Provincial Government. Anyone new or unfamiliar with these protocols can find this information on the Valley Ridge website or by contacting the Pro Shop. Ladies’ League at Valley Ridge is non-profit and run by our professional staff and member volunteers for the enjoyment and encouragement of Ladies Golf. All fees collected for Ladies’ League are spent to cover the costs of weekly league play prizes, and other benefits, as outlined below in the League Fees sub-header. Any ladies registering as non-Valley Ridge members will also have the option of either purchasing a Season’s Green Fee Pass (valid for league play only), or will pay a weekly green fee as outlined below.

 

With consultation from the Pro Shop, the Monday Evening League was modified going into the 2021 season. With the hopes of growing the League, and encouraging more ladies to play, we have opened up the Monday Night League to anyone, member or non-member.

 

This league will be based on FUN and ENJOYMENT of golf and social interaction afterwards. The games will all have a rotating fun format and NO handicaps will be used to determine results and standings. Throughout the season we are looking to have a blend of shotgun and tee time formats, please see the schedule below:

2022 MONDAY EVENING LADIES’ LEAGUE FEES 

 

Members:  - $125.00                        Non Members:  - $200.00     

Included in the league fees this year is a league registration gift as a thank you for participating in our 2022 Ladies’ League.

 

SEASON SCHEDULE:  

• League Registration Opens - Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 9:00am
• Valley Ridge Fashion Show - Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 5:00pm
• Monday League Play Begins - May 2, 2022 and Ends September 12, 2022 (19 weeks)
• Annual Ladies’ League Open Tournament - Wednesday, August 17, 2022
• Monday Evening Closing Tournament - Sunday, September 18, 2022

 

NON-MEMBER GREEN FEE OPTIONS:

(Optional) Monday Evening Green Fee Pass: $600.00 plus GST - Valid ONLY for Monday League Nights. (20 weeks) Best Value!

Weekly 9 Hole Green Fee Option - $40.00 plus GST

Weekly 9 Hole Power Cart Fee Option - $10.00 plus GST per player

 

REGISTRATION THROUGH GOLF GENIUS:

All registration forms and fee payments will be completed through the Golf Genius system. If you don’t already have it, you will need to download the FREE GOLF GENIUS APP.

• Search ‘Golf Genius’ from wherever you download your Apps to find it. (It is an orange Icon with a globe of the world sitting on top of a tee.)
• Registration is NOT done from the APP; it is completed through the link that will be provided. It is important that you enter your email address and phone number when you register to receive communications, such as tee time confirmations and text messages that link to the Golf Genius APP.
• For Non-members, included in your fees are the use of pull carts, driving range balls, the practice green and FREE golf clinics outlined below. Your payment is confirmation of your registration in the League.
• Registration will be limited to the First 84 Ladies signup, waitlist will be established once it is full.

 

 

GOLF CANADA MEMBERSHIP:

A seasonal Golf Canada Membership allows you to enter your golf scores every time you play, at any course, all season long in order to maintain a Handicap. This is Optional and is Not required to play in the Monday Evening League. If you are interested, they can be purchased at registration or through the Pro Shop at a cost of $38.00 plus GST.

 

19th HOLE TEE POT DRAW:

We are adding a weekly 19th Hole Tee Pot Draw, with a 50/50 split for the prize money! In order to avoid the exchange of money from multiple participants on a weekly basis and to keep things COVID safe, there will be an option to purchase upfront on the Registration page through Golf Genius. If you choose to buy in, the upfront price is $100. (19 weeks plus the wind up at $5 per week). There will NOT be an option to participate on a weekly basis. This draw will be done at the results presentation at the conclusion of each weekly Monday League, and will not be shared with the Wednesday Morning Ladies League, unlike 2021. Those who play in both leagues need to buy separately if they wish to participate in both draws. Participants will not be required to be present for each draw (the only requirement is to pre-register for the draw at registration), and everyone will receive a weekly email confirming draw and league winnings. Please join us because all revenue goes back into the league for more prizing and towards our tournaments. The more who participate, the larger the pot! Good luck!

 

WEEKLY SIGN UP AND TEE TIMES:

All registrants will receive an email with an ‘Invitation to Play’ every week, one week prior to the scheduled date of League play. You will then have the option to make playing partner requests by messaging Stephen through the league portal before that coming Friday.

Sign up will close every week at Noon on Friday for Monday night golf and tee time confirmations will be sent out Friday nights with a link to the Ladies Portal and Draw - there are no guarantees that there will be spots available if you fail to sign up by noon on Friday. If you must cancel or missed signing up, and the confirmation email has been sent out, please call the Pro Shop at 403-221-9682 to determine if there are any tee time spots available for Monday.

 

MAXIMUM SCORES PER HOLE:

In the interest of timely play, we have always had a maximum score on any hole. When you reach these maximums, please pick up and move on to the next hole. This year will remain the same as last year; Double Par Plus 1:

   On a Par 3 Hole the Maximum will be 3 x 2 (6) + 1 for a maximum of 7

   On a Par 4 Hole the Maximum will be 4 X 2 (8) + 1 for a maximum of 9

   On a Par 5 Hole the Maximum will be 5 x 2 (10) + 1 for a maximum of 11

 

GUESTS:

Guests may not sign up until the Tee Time draw is complete on Friday nights and the Confirmation email has been sent out. If there are available tee times after that, you may bring a guest. The cost is $10.00 in Ladies’ League Fees and $45.00 Green Fees plus GST.  

 

GOLF CLINICS:

Everyone registered in the Monday Evening Ladies’ League is eligible to participate in complimentary golf clinics, dates and themes are TBD.

 

PRIZES:

Weekly prizes will be awarded for Members and Non-members in the form of a Gift Card that can be used towards purchases in the Pro Shop or Mulligans Restaurant.

 

MONDAY EVENING CLOSING TOURNAMENT:

As in recent years, the Monday Evening Closing Tournament will be 18 Holes of Golf instead of 9, played on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2 pm in a shotgun format. Further event details will be released closer to the date.

 

VALLEY RIDGE ANNUAL LADIES’ LEAGUE OPEN TOURNAMENT:

Scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th, 2022. This 18 Hole tournament is hosted by Valley Ridge Ladies’ League and ran as a separate event. We have yet to determine the cost this year, but it is open to all members & non-members. You can sign up as an individual, 2some or 3some and we will fill in players to make groups of 4, or you can sign up your own team of 4. It is a fun day of golf and this year the theme will be ‘Viva Las Vegas’. Most of us dress up and/or decorate our carts, but it’s not required. We usually have a 9:00am shotgun start and the fees for this will cover your meal and tournament prizes. More details will be made available in the spring. Please inquire to anyone on the Executive if you or anyone you know are interested in participating this year and we will forward the information when it becomes available.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The social aspect has always been a HUGE part of our League. Most league members will gather in the clubhouse for dinner and drinks following their round, and will be encouraged to stay for results presentations, provided that it safe to do so!

Everyone will have to make their own determination as to personal risk for if, or when, they are comfortable going into Valley Hall Banquet Room with their 4some for this social time. If you have any questions, please contact Stephen Yanitski and he will be able to answer your questions.
