Arlington, Texas. - Fresh off a renovation in 2019 The Texas Rangers Golf Club will play host to the 2022 AGA Women's Amateur Golf Championship presented by Roberts Oxygen. Set for May 23-26 the amateur event makes its first appearance in the state of Texas.

The tournament will be broken down into two divisions, a championship division, and a senior division. It will be a 54-hole event with 18 holes a day.

Opening for play in February 2019 Texas Rangers Golf Club quickly impressed locals in the DFW area with its playability and unique hole designs. The John Colligan-designed golf course was renovated and rerouted in an effort to utilize the natural elevation changes of the property. “The clubhouse is located upon the promontory of the property with great vistas to the northeast overlooking the course and out across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The first tee sits some 45 feet above the lowest spot on the fairway."(Colligan) The golf course will offer the players a new test as they hope to navigate the firm Dwarfbermuda grass and the 110,000 square feet of bunkers throughout the golf course.

Most notably, The Texas Rangers golf club has played host to the Veritex Bank Championship a stop on the Korn Ferry Tour, and hosted a plethora of other talented amateur events. In addition, it has become the home of the UTA Men's and Women's golf teams boasting a 23-acre practice area and a double-ended range.

As the AGA Women's Amateur Championship continues to grow the rise in popularity of this event is noticeable. Now in its third year of play, the event has included some of the best women's amateur golfers in the country including last year's Championship flight winner Meghan Stasi who was recently inducted into the Florida Golf Association Hall of Fame.

Amateur Golf Alliance:  The “AGA” was established to support and promote the amateur game via competitions providing amateur golfers throughout the globe more opportunities to compete at national and international events, and fund research and initiatives that will enhance the landscape of competitive amateur golf.  The AGA has provided financial support for members of the United States practice squads for both the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup teams.
